Slimline 19-inch slide-in Industrial PCThe C5210 19-inch slide-in Industrial PC is only one rack unit high and has an Intel® Core™2 Duo on a 3½-inch motherboard with on-board SATA RAID controller and two SATA 3½-inch removable frames. The C5210 can be extended by PCIe modules, a Mini PCI card or a DVD drive. It is ideally suited for machine construction and plant engineering applications, for example with TwinCAT automation software under Windows Embedded Standard or Windows XP Professional.

Beckhoff PCIe modules – highly integrated PCI Express plug-in cardsBeckhoff PCIe modules are based on a new defi nition of highly integrated PCI Express plug-in cards and follow the trend towards ever smaller PCs. Without impacting on the design, these compact PCIe modules extend the control cabinet PCs C6515, C6525 and C6930 as well as the Panel PC series CP62xx with additional interfaces, e.g. Ethernet ports (FC9062). Compared with PCI or PCIe plug-in cards, the Beckhoff PCIe module is an industrialised solution that is optimised for industrial applications and is fi rmly attached to the inside of the PC via a plug connector bracket.

The HD Bus Terminals from Beckhoff: 16 channels in 12 mm Beckhoff has expanded its IP 20 I/O systems with a new generation of Bus Terminals that dramatically increases packing density. The HD Bus Terminals (High Density) feature 16 connection points in the housing of a 12 mm electronic terminal block.

EtherCAT Box modules | 16-channel IP 67 BoxHigh performance is retained down to each module with the IP 67 modules from Beckhoff with direct EtherCAT interface. The EtherCAT Box series was extended by the new Widebody Box modules. These mod-ules contain 16 channels – instead of 8 – in a housing with double width, reducing cabling and channel price.

TwinCAT 3TwinCAT 3 is the new PC-based control software, with which the standard automation world is extended considerably. In addition to the object-oriented IEC 61131-3 extensions, the languages of the IT world are avail-able in C and C++. The integration of Matlab®/Simulink® enables the application in scientifi c fi elds. The modules are executable in the different languages in a common runtime under hard real-time conditions, using multi-core technology and with 32- or 64-bit operating systems.

The IEC 61850 standard defi nes a communication protocol that is used in particular in electrical switchgear and distributed energy systems, such as wind turbines or photovoltaic plants. Such standardised communication can be implemented using the PLC library “TwinCAT IEC 61850 Server”.

TwinCAT PLC Motion Control XFCThe PLC library “TwinCAT PLC Motion Control XFC” includes blocks for high-precision logging and switching of digital signals in relation to axis positions. This way, XFC (eXtreme Fast Control Technology) can also optimise a wide range of Motion Control issues.
