Ambergris : A wax-like substance secreted from sperm whale intestine found floating in tropicalseas. Used in perfume making.
Appurtenance : An accessory or item associated with a particular activity or style of living.
Avaricious : Having or showing an extreme greed for wealth or material gain.
Bastinado : A form of punishment or torture that involved caning the soles of someones feet.
Bathos : Anticlimactic effect created by unintentional lapse from the sublime to the ridiculous.
Borborygmus : A rumbling or gurgling noise made by the movement of fluid and gas in the
intestines.
Caustic : 1. Able to burn or corrode organic tissue by chemical action. 2. Sarcastic in a scathing
or bitter way.

Lamia : A mythical monster supposed to have the body of a woman, and to prey on human
beings and suck the blood of children.
Lapidary : Relating to the engraving, cutting or polishing of stones and gems.
Laterite : A reddish clayey material, hard when dry. Forms topsoil in some tropical/subtropical
regions. Sometimes used for building.

Lector: A reader, especially someone who reads lessons in a church service.
Milieu : A persons social environment.
Motile : Capable of motion (cells, gametes, single-celled organisms)

Ontology : The branch of metaphysics dealing with the nature of dealing.
Opaque : Light cant pass through. Opposite of transparent.
Panoply : An extensive or impressive collection.
Panta Rhei : Everything Flows
Parsimony : Extreme unwillingness to spend money.
Perihelion : The point in the orbit of a planet, asteroid or comet at which it is closest to the sun.
Opposite of Aphelion.
Planck Length : Theoretical length of miniscule value
Prestidigitation : Conjuring tricks performed as entertainment.
Pro rata : Proportionally, corresponding in size or amount to something else
Prorate : Allocate, distribute or assess pro rata.
