New Vibe Ensemble — Chapbook Series: Volume II
NVE, New Vibe Ensemble, is a collection of musicians that found their sound in the 21st century. It’s about vibes, the real keyboard and the other kinds. The personnel are Jerry Gentry, electric vibe;Ray Sword, xylophone and percussion;Kevin Hayes, drums, percussion and mallets;and J. Marie, bass.
They are at their best live, but if you can’t find them in your local venue, try the recorded version. When asked to describe the latest release “Chapbook Series, Volume II” the band spokesperson replied, “imagine an electric vibraphone, a xylophone, hand percussion, bass and drums playing impromptu choruses from graphic notation without a safety net:then press play.”
