I73 3467 I74 A star omitted in the BD. whose approximate place for 1855 is RA. = 6h32m~ Decl. = +58O 2' New Variable Star in Lynx. much fainter than another a little to the south of BD. ~580964. Yesterday, however, it surpassed not only these two stars, but also a still brighter one lying about 4' to the n. p. of 964; and it was only om4 fainter than BD. The two stars, following, have been observed, to con- clude the list published in A. N. 3419. with the BD. magnitude. follows 9sJ 3' south, is 91/,. The magnitude of the second star does not agree It is now 81/2J while the star BD. +60?520, which Each is given 9.2 in the BD. +58?960, whose magnitude I estimate as 9.1. The identi- fication of this variable is rendered easy by the fact that it lies between 3' and 4' to the s. f. of 960. was on 1897, April 21 estimated by me as certainly not brighter than 10915. Gli elementi e 1' effemeride che si troveranno nella Pubblicazione sesta dell' Istituto di calcolo di Berlino, derivano da calcoli basati soltanto sulle due prime oppo- sizioni; e gli elementi, in questa circostanza, male si rica- varano col metodo delle variazioni delle distanze ; percib quell' effemeride domanderh per il giorno dell' opposizione la correzione approssimata: dcx = +qm 14~, Ad = - 22!7 ; mentre 1' attuale deve essere in buon accord0 col cielo.
