New Variable Star in Auriga. A star not entered in the BD. whose place for 1855 is

RA. == 6ho?9 Decl. = +50" 14'

has proved to be variable. The changes in its brightness have been as follows, BD. +so01 2 7 5 being estimated as 8m5, and BD. +49?1464 as 8mg: 1900 April I, 8m6; April 1 1 , 8lf4; April 16, 17, 19 and 2 0 , 8m2; April 2 7 , 8?3; May 3, 8m3 ; May 5, 8?4 ; May 15, 8416; May 23, 8m8.

The RA. and Decl. given above may be wrong to the extent of 0911 and 1', but the variable may be easily identified if one bears in mind that it lies in a straight line with two stars of 10910 and 10453 respectively, the former at a distance of about 4' on the s. p. side with a position-angle of about 2 too, the latter at a distance of about 7' on the n. f. side. After the BD. stars, these two are the brightest in the vicinity of the variable.
