▼ Caution of study abroad in Cebu

① About using electric appliances in the PhilippinesThe voltage in the Philippines is 220V so Japanese appliances that do not incorporate with the transformer cannot be used. Also, the shape ofthe outlet is the same as in Japan, so you do not need to purchase an adapter.

② About tap water in Cebu IslandTap water in Cebu cannot be used for drinking water because it contains a large amount of chlorine so do not drink. There is also a waterdispenser at our facilities, but we recommend you to purchase mineral water if you feel that the water does not suit to your body. You can use thetap water to rinse your teeth after brushing and wash the cup and other things.

③ About holidaysIn the Philippines, there is a regular holiday that the country has settled, and a special holiday set by the city. Although the holiday has a �ixdate, it could suddenly change depending on Philippine government’s decision. In that case, lessons will be cancelled.

④ About the security of Cebu in the PhilippinesThe most common danger in Cebu island, • Scam • Lost • TheftBe careful of Filipinos who can speak Japanese because it can be dangerous. So, do not leave your eyes from your valuable items, especiallywhen you are riding a jeepney, or go out, be careful even if you do not have any valuable items. Details will also be explained in the orientation. ⑤ About entering PhilippinesYou cannot enter the Philippines unless you purchase an round trip ticket or ticket to another country. Please be sure to print your E-ticketand carry it. And also, it is requested to be presented at the time of immigration so please prepare it with your passport. Although there is apossibility of a delay to the departure time and arrival time of air planes, the local staff can check the arrival status so do not worry about it.However, in case of missing the plane , please inform us.

⑥When you leave CebuIf you have an expired Tourist visa when you leave the Philippines, you will need to pay penalty on departure. We will explain it at the timeof orientation. Also, airport tax fee is required when leaving Cebu. We recommend you to keep around 1,000 pesos. If there is an unclearpoint, Please feel free to ask the staff. For more than half a year continuous stay in the Philippines. It is necessary to apply for a permit calledECC. It will be explained at the time of orientation.

(Remarks)When you study in the Philippines, you will stay with a tourist visa at �irst. However, school attendance with only a tourist visas is illegal soyou need to apply for an immigration application called SSP through our school. Also, applying for a visa in Japan is unnecessary. You willapply for it in Cebu through our school.

○ For health First of all, bring various medicine. Specially, we recommend that you to bring throat candy, cough medicine and soon. Because of a one-on-one basis class, we need to talk all the time. And the air is dry so it is easy for you to have the sore throat.○ For communication Please bring a smart phone, laptop , etc. that can use for'Skype', 'Line', 'Facebook', 'E-mail' to communicate to people in Japan. The dormitory has a Wi-Fi that you can use it to communicate with people in Japan.

○ For learning About learning tools, we recommend that you bring these books: · Electronic dictionary · vocabulary book · grammar book · book about pronunciation · book about ordinary conversation ○ To withdraw your money in Cebu

"International cash card" is convenient for debiting salary expenses to live here. Credit card cashing service is also available, but there are only few ATMs. Most students will use international cash cards like "Rakuten Bank", "City Bank "," New Bank Bank "etc. On the local ATM, with a silver mark with a + mark. Those who are long-term study abroad, please consider purchasing there. Depending on things, thereare things you can buy cheaper than in Japan. In addition, you can purchase various kinds such as souvenirs.By all means, when you study abroad, please have your feet. ○ JeepneyIt is like a public bus. But we recommend traveling by taxi until you gets used to a local life in Cebu.But since it is unique, please do try it when you come here. However, we do not recommend riding on itat night. Spend your holidayI recommend you to go to various sightseeing spots on holidays.Although it is far, there are spots where you can swim with whalesharks, and there are also many beautiful beaches. There is afamous activity called island hopping, please try at the time ofstudy abroad.
