Shuaibah II Water Development Project Company (STPC) is a wholly owned ACWA Power project, developed to meet accelerating demand for desalinated water in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This latest expansion will be constructed in Shuaibah, close to our existing water desalination plants; Shuaibah-3 IWPP and Shuaibah-3 Expansion IWP. Utilising sea water reverse osmosis technology, the plant is expected to have capacity of 250,000 m3 per day and is scheduled to be commissioned by H1 2019. The total cost for the project is AR 1,179 million (USD 314 million). This desalination plant will contribute to tackling the water security challenge in Saudi Arabia, which is currently the world’s largest producer of desalinated water. Shuaibah II Water Development Project Company (STPC) is a wholly owned ACWA Power project, developed to meet accelerating demand for desalinated water in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This latest expansion will be constructed in Shuaibah, close to our existing water desalination plants; Shuaibah-3 IWPP and Shuaibah-3 Expansion IWP.
