Page 2: new q

amSome new Q like that one XYZ post, and how many bits from a IPv6 Adr. are reserved for the host portion. Some Q are formulated a bit other but still valid 70-80%

A failur i've found:

to dump all enviroment variables, use the command "env" not set

Passed LXO-102 today August 30-12 this dump still valid please memorize the last two tests "F" and "G" lots of fill in the blank like 15 questions and they had like 7 new questions which are not in this dump.Read comments from Renato and Satan. Heads up new modifications coming in both tests LXO-101 abd LXO-102. Good luck to everyone I am now Linux certified.

http://certification.comptia.org/news/12-07-09/CompTIA_Linux_Will_See_Minor_Changes_to_Exam_Objectives_this_Fall.aspx

It will help you, but it will only let you pass, if you can remember (or better if you studied) ALL of the 300 questions, in my case, i guess there where 60-70 % valid.

i remember a few new quests:

192.168.2.128/28 number of hosts should be calculated, its 14 -1 (because one server was already used, said the description): 13

rights of /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow was a bit different

it was asked about the bits of ipv6 --->128

Another question is about converting a file where the choices were: utf2utf2, convert, iconv, and dd IT IS NOT DD, ITS ICONV!

AND: There were 15questions fill in blank, that was a bit hard..

hope that helps

some question 1. shell script about ' #! ' 2. vanilla x11 login manager 3. IPv6....ans: 128 4. IPv4 class C netmask /27 , how many IP 5. question about command 'alias' in new way

Page 3: new q

6. xhost 7. ssh-agent

680/800 - Dump is still valid. However some kind of experience and book reading may be also needed to understand the background of each question outlined into this vce.

In today's exam there were so many questions to fulfill in the blanks. So, I strongly recommend you to memorize and write down the full path of the following files for you to avoid typos and don't lose easy points as I did in three or more questions because I had forgotten where the heck those files were located or just didn't remember the right way to write them (if I would studied a bit more this way may be I would reach more than 700 score, but no regrets at all, I passed and that's what really matters)

/etc/inetd.conf /var/spool/mail /var/run/utmp /var/spool/lpd /etc/sendmail.cf /usr/share/zoneinfo /etc/localtime /var/log/boot.log /etc/nsswitch.conf /etc/printcap /var/log/wtmp /etc/xinetd.conf

- The networking question came up with /27 - Bits for header of IPV6 was asked but don't remember the way it was worded.

- Once again name of vanilla x11 login manager was triggered, but I'm not sure whether or not it was KDM. -I've lost 10 questions, and I think 15 were new and not contained into this dump. So, I recommend you to study a bit more of the way "find" command works. Find out the importance/meaning of the Shebang symbol at the beginning of a script file (#!). Look for more information of IPV6 and Reinforce the topics related to User Interfaces (about 5 questions were asked today regarding this one). - That was all I could tack on my mind today. Hope it helps.

Pura vida a todos, les saludo desde Costa Rica, good luck everyone!!!

Recomendations: nsswitch.conf, select and update syntax, webservices ports, icmp, ping and netstat.

Passed with 700. Had some of the extra questions mentioned here- http port, question about converting

Page 4: new q

a file - went with dd, also got question about definition of /etc/nsswitch.conf - went with passwords etc answer, also had the question about private ssh key - selected user computer option The question for mail was worded different choices included var/mail and var/spool was a little thrown by that (was no var/spool/mail), went with var/spool maybe incorrect in retrospect. This dump is still very much valid, though i think the syllabus is changing next month so would wait a while for reports about the new questions before sitting it

Satan Goss from Brazil - May 17 2012, 10:55 PM Report SpamThis dump is still valid: About 50 questions. Passed with 730/800

Pay attention!!! Few questions changes is order, some changes the context or turns of multiple choice to fill the blank and vice versa. If you studies this dump and ready all the explanations (you can find answers in explanations too), you will be successful!

Some new questions:

1 - [Fill the blank] Q - Port of http. A - 80 (Peace of cake!!!!) 2 - [Multiple choice] Q - About to convert characters in input file to another. - iconv 3 - [Multiple choice] Q - The question about "How many IP addresses were left for other hosts to be connected" is changed cidr notation 192.168.112.64/26 to /29, be carefully because the answer isn't 61, CIDR /29 permits only 6 hosts less router address, the correct answer is: 5 4 - [Multiple choice] Q - Why still dangerous when disclosing the encrypted password in /etc/shadow? - I thinks it´s because the brute force attack; 5 - [Multiple choice] Q - When used encrypted password, what character is stored in second field in /etc/shadow. - x 6 - [Multiple choice] Question about definition of nsswitch.conf. - I think it´s letter 'A' database of users and passwords (see http://linux.about.com/od/commands/l/blcmdl5_nsswitc.htm) 7 - [Multiple choice] Question about definition of ntp (Networl Time Protocol) - used to synchronize the clocks of computers to some time reference. 8 - [Multiple choice] Question about store of private key in SSH. - I think, it´s in user computer.

Don´t just memorize, learn! Good lucky dudes!!!

Renato from Brazil - Apr 27 2012, 7:48 PM Report SpamThis dump is valid. Score 700. New questions like: 1. difference between at and batch - think that batch runs when the system has lower CPU usage and at must be specified when to run 2. Question with crontab was a bit changed 3. whats the difference between /etc/crontab and the normal crontab file

Page 5: new q

/etc/crontab for system , normal for user4. name of vanilla x11 login manager 5. question with ISP a bit changed 6. which programs hold keys for automatic login via ssh - ssh-agent 7. Bits for IPv6 should be 128 8. The question for alias was complete changed 9. The question to disable temp an account was changed to - change PWD - to account to expire with chage - type exit into.login

And: Question ISP with /27 sql: ____ count(*) from tablename;

Thanks KenCom, hyere and johnny99

Good luck to all

700/800 today! This is a valid dump *ONLY* if you study every question Questions not on the dump: - What's the purpose of the /etc/nsswitch.conf file? The answer is something with the "C library configure" something something

- Another question is about converting a file where the choices were: utf2utf2, convert, iconv, and dd (correct answer should be dd)

- For the rest, if you study this dump AND understand the question, you should have no problem passing.

- I still don't know what's the correct answer for the question "default shell variables for all users" is. Is it /etc/bashrc or /etc/profile ???

Passed. I can say not all are in this dump, some questions were changed. I think about 10 questions were changed but you can still pass using this dump.

Here is what I can remember: 1. Question about mailq was rephrased. It says "What is the command that prints a list

Page 8: new q

of email managed by the MTA but has not yet been delivered?

2. Question about crontab is changed. It now stated What statements best describe crontab, CHOOSE TWO? in this dump it says Choose 3. I think I answered the one with "Each user may have their own crontab" and the "hourly * 0 0 0 0"

3. What is the purpose of nsswitch?

4. What command can send messages to syslog? Im torn between choosing "logger" or "syslog".

5. Question about the https port 443. It goes something like this, the developer browses https:/localhost/appname but it doesnt work and she execute command netstat -an and only shows listening on port 80. Answer is 443

6. The choices for answering the question about "What best option can you do to prevent interactive login of a user?" the option in this dump says adding /bin/false but it is not in the exam choices. As far as I can remember the options were, Changed the username, Change the password, Change the chage so account will expire, include logout in bash_profile

The dump is still valid, you could say that by 90%. Some questions were changed but minimally. Many questions of white space (about 15 questions). Well studied Exam F) Some changes that I remember: 1 - Asked crontab (Exam G Q2) changes in test 3 options to two choices. 2 - All new questions are reported by Renato and Satan. Do not worry if you study the test you and you look out the comments I indicated you will have no problems. I got 730/800 in 30 minutes

rama from France - Jan 11 2013, 6:50 PM Report SpamHi guys Passed it today. This dump is really valid I would say 85 % but you need to read the comments here and on Kencom's dump ( specially renato and satan) they are so valid. Be carefull with claucia's post there are some mistakes in her answers. - This dump is valid and thanks to blue for updating it with the new questions. There are definelty 10 news questions and some questions on this dump are formulated in a new way so read carefully the question and understand the answers of this dump and you won't meet any probs. - Most of the new questions are here on this comment and on this dump. What I remember that may not be in this dump is this : 1)Something to do with email and I didn't know what to answer because the options were: a) /var/spool b)/var/mail don't remember option C and D but it wasn't right anyway.

2) I had a question about a command that could adjust the TTL between gateway and host (this was raised in kencom post too) I have hesitated between ping and traceroute. I am not sure. I Selected Traceroute but
