GENERAL:

INTENDED USE:PowerBridge Solution is certified for installation to provide a single location in-wall/ceiling power extension using code compliant building power cable within enclosed walls or ceiling areas. Installation conforms to NEC Chapter 3 Wiring Methods. Performs extension of 120-volt A.C. power from an existing power source, such as, not limited to; an existing installed outlet receptacle or external UL Listed power bar or extension surge protection device through external use of a UL Listed power supply cable.

BUILDING POWER CABLE: Nonmetallic-sheathed cable, also known as *ROMEX®, UL Listed NM-type cable is the most common and most accepted building premise power cable used for 120-volt wiring of lights, outlets and switches. Supplied 14-2 gauge NM-type building cable can be utilized in all areas of the US and

Canada where NM-type cable is approved to meet code compliancy. EXCEPTION: Cook County, IL – NYC, NY

INSTALLATION PREMISE:Installation of the PowerBridge creates a dead-front extension, meaning it is not wired to the live premise branch- circuit power. PowerBridge remains as a dead-front, defined as without live parts until it is energized by means from the dead-front inlet through a suitable UL Listed power supply cord from the front of the existing power circuit, through its rated receptacle outlet. Benefit to this method of installation allows connection to an external power conditioner/surge protection device, bridging protected power in-wall to wall mounted display and audio appliances.

· PowerBridge is not installed as part of the building premise power circuit. · PowerBridge is not wired to, or made permanently part of, the building electrical circuit or branch-circuit. · Installation does not create a new circuit, also known as a branch-circuit or branch-circuit extension. · Installation does not change, modify, alter, or add-to, the premise power circuit as it is not direct wired to

the premise power circuit.

POWERCONNECTOR NM-TYPE POWER CABLE CONNECTORS:BENEFITS: PowerBridge innovated use of pre-terminated NM Connectors for plug-together connection of supplied pre-terminated NM-type building power cable. No tools required. Installer friendly, no special training or skill required to connect. Safely and correctly allows fast plug-to-plug connection between the pre-terminated PowerIN and PowerOUT wall plates without hard wiring to termination screw attachment points. Ensures integrity of NM Cable connection, using secure locked termination points.

Conform to US Standards UL498, UL 514C, UL817 and Canadian CSA Standard C22.2 NOs 21, 42.1

Approval for PowerConnectors:*NEC Article 334.40 (B) Devices of Insulating Material. “- tap devices of insulating material shall be permitted to be used without boxes in exposed cable wiring for rewiring in existing buildings where the cable is concealed and fished. Openings in such devices shall form a close fit around the outer covering of the cable and the device shall fully enclose the part of the cable from which any part of the covering has been removed.”

Approval for installation of NM cable within walls:*NEC Article 334.30 (B) Unsupported Cables. “Nonmetallic-sheathed cable shall be permitted to be unsupported where the cable is fished between access points through concealed spaces in finished buildings or structures and supporting is impracticable.”

Approval for installation of assembled Listed kit:*NEC Article 400.7 (A) (11) Flexible Cords and Cables - Uses Permitted“Between an existing receptacle outlet and an inlet, where the inlet provides power to an additional receptacle outlet. The wiring interconnecting the inlet to the receptacle outlet shall be a Chapter 3 wiring method. The inlet, receptacle outlet, and Chapter 3 wiring method, including the flexible cord and fittings, shall be a listed assembly specific for this application.”
