Welcome!Welcome to Guardian Angels parish. For manygenerations, faithful Catholics of the Chaska area havebeen served with our fine school and beautiful church.

We hope to continue this tradition as we build ourfuture upon this 150+ year legacy.

Although we are in communion with Catholicsthroughout the world and able to worship at anyCatholic church, the practice of our faith is rooted in thesmaller apostolic community known as the parish.

Parishes exist within a diocese led by its bishop, thesuccessor of the apostles. The diocesan bishop hasthe authority to ordain priests and deacons to whom hedelegates his pastoral authority so they may minister toparishes in his local church.

Dioceses throughout the world are in communion withthe bishop of Rome, our Pope, and that is what makesour parish and our local church part of the universalCatholic Church. This uninterrupted apostolicsuccession through the ages has sustained ourEucharist, the source and summit of our faith. At eachMass we are blessed with Sacred Scripture andEucharistic nourishment, continuing almost 2000 yearsof Tradition sometimes in tension with the culture,often challenged, but never interrupted.

Guardian Angels parish is our sacred local turf withinthe global church where we are able to nourish our

faith relevantly. It is where we share our talent andtreasure to help each other to stay on the way towardGods eternal kingdom. It is where we can help eachother when we are in need. It is where we share ourstruggles and joys in communion with each other as wegrow in faith.

Sharing parish life helps us to better understand thenuances, struggles, and joys of faith, hope, and charity.We learn to share each others faith in compliance with our

divine mandate to love God above all things and to loveour neighbor as our self. Each parish is its own extendedfamily charged to help each other navigate our pilgrimageof life.

As participants in Gods gift of life, each and every personis important. The parish is an eclectic collection of Godsimportant people seeking eternal communion with theFather, Son, and Holy Spirit. This is where we nourish ourCatholic roots so that we may yield spiritual fruit; here wefulfill our obligation to sustain the faith we inherited fromour ancestors so that we may pass it on to ourdescendants.

LeadershipOur commission form of managing the parish whichwas just installed this fall is not a new concept. It hasbeen established in a number of successful parishes.It takes leadership and involvement from the membersof the GA Parish to make this management styletriumphant. We have six commissions with sixmembers on each commission.

Each of these commissions consists of achairperson, a recorder, a representative to the ParishCouncil and liaisons to the committees and ministrieswho are associated with the commission. Eachcommission has a parish staff person assigned toassist both the commission and the committees toaccomplish their goals and objectives.

We still have a Parish Council and Parish FinanceCouncil. The Finance Council consists of sixmembers also and has a chairperson, a recorder and a

representative to the Parish Council.

The Parish Council consists of three members at large; ofthese one is the chairperson and one the recorder. Theremainder of the Parish Council is made up of onemember from each of the commissions and the FinanceCouncil.

These leaders need to be active and engaging to ensurewe have a great management team for the GuardianAngels Parish.
