Coupling / Pipe clamp selection methodCheck the following fifisix items to select the correct coupling for your application requirement.(1) Fluid type Check the application flf luid : Air, Water, Oil, Gases etc. Example : Air application - UNIC Series Water application - YSP, NSP Series Select the coupling with body, seal material to suit the f lfluid type. We provide different body materials and seal materials to suit various types of f lflfluids.
(2) Fluid pressure Couplings, Pipe Clamps have different pressure resistance to suit f lfluid application Requirements. Select a coupling with pressure resistance to suit flf lfluid pressure. Example : Pressure 20.6 MPa (210 kgf/cm2)-SPH-050 Series
(3) Fluid temperature Fluid working temperature is also important to select seal material. There are different seal materials to suit different flf lfluid working temperature.
Example : Nitrile butadiene rubber is used for f lfluid working temperature
from -20
oC to + 80
oC
(4) Size, Connection type, Valve structure and body material a. Size : Select suitable size 1/8” ~ 2”, (Diameter 3.18 mm to 31.75 mm) b. Connection type : Male / Female thread, Hose nipple, Nut, Plug c. Valve structure : Select from different valve structures double shut-off, single shut-off or straight through types d. Body material : Select body material steel, brass, stainless steel to suit requirements
(5) Working environment Check the working environment such as temperature, dust, and vibrations etc. while choosing coupling for safe operation Example : Avoid unnecessary vibrations, impacts and operation under dirty or dusty environment.
(6) Clamped work pieces detail Producting order-made pipe-clamps, we need work pcs drawings & some original work pcs.

Precautionary notes on using couplingsRead the precautionary notes before operating the couplingPrecautions for Couplings usage :
GlossaryThe following terms are used for coupling specififif ications mentioned in this catalogue.
Body materialThe material is used for the socket and plug body that form the flf luid path. Internal valve mechanism components may have different materials.
PressureWorking pressure : Standard continuous allowable pressure when coupling is in use.Pressure resistance : Maximum allowable pressure for momentary time, that will not affect the performance of the coupling.
Packing materialThis shows the material is used for O-ring and packing seals used in the coupling.
Maximum tightening torqueThis indicates the maximum torque value that can be applied when coupling f ifittings are being tightened.
Working temperature rangeThis indicates the minimum and maximum working temperatures for which coupling and packing materials can be used.
SizeThis indicates pipe or hose diameter to be connected.
Pressure lossThis shows pressure loss when the flflf luid f lows through the coupling.
Performance characteristics & Control limitsThe fifif igures described in performance characteristics and sketch dimensions are mean values for reference information.
InterchangeabilityNew Machine couplings are designed considering global coupling standards and interchangeability with other manufacturers products.
• Don’t connect/disconnect any external tools when pressure is
applied. It may cause damage.• Don’t leave the socket and plug disconnected when pressure is applied.
• Remove the foreign particles from the flf luid f lowing through the coupling using f ifilter. Accumulation of foreign particles may cause malfunction
of valve open/close operation.
• Never use the coupling instead of rotating devices like rotary joints and swivel joints.
• Don’t tighten the nut fittings, screw type f ittings in excess of the maximum torque. Excess torque application may cause damage. Therefore, apply proper torque for tightening.
• Don’t use tools like hammer, impact device causing extraordinary vibrations. This will reduce endurance. External pressure and impact can cause dangerous situation. • Don’t hit tip of the valve to exhaust theresidual pressure. Valve structure may cause malfunction of open/close operation.
• Don’t use couplings where metal dust, debris may enter causing damage to the sealing. This may cause damage or leakage.

Inspection & Replacement of O-ringInspect the couplings periodically for leakage. O-ring or Back-up ring installed in the socket should be replaced with new one when f lfluid (air, gas and oil etc.) leakage is noticed due to wear or deterioration
3. After replacing the O-ring, apply silicon grease for gas flf luid, or requid being used as flflf luid. Proper lubricant should be used to suit the flf luid.
Connecting and disconnecting of the coupling
YSP-TYPE, NSP-TYPE, UNIC TYPE etcConnecting : Insert the plug into the socket with sleeve kept pulled towards your side and sleeve will return to original position automatically. The sleeve is attached on the socket.Disconnecting : The socket and the plug will be disconnected automatically on sliding the sleeve of the socket.
MSP-TYPE, CA-OO TYPE, AP TYPE etc. (One-touch operation type)Connecting : Only inserting makes the coupling connect.Disconnecting : Slide the sleeve, the plug and the socket will be disconnected automatically.

1. Remove the O-ring (or Back-up ring) from the socket using bent end tool (L-shaped hook, pin or needle) by stretching it and pulling towards your side. Wipe the groove with a clean cloth after removing the O-ring.
2. Insert the new O-ring (or Back-up ring) in to the socket. To install it, press one part of O-ring into the groove and press remaining part using bent end tool (R-shaped hook, pin etc.) High pressure application sockets have back-up ring along with an O-ring. Back-up ring should be installed in front of the O-ring, seeing from your side. Refer to the sketch.
Note : We recommend to use our original spare parts (O-ring, Back-up ring and other replaceable parts) for better coupling performance.

• N350 coupling employs “airless valve mechanism” to minimize air mixing while connecting socket and plug.• Automatic shut-off (open/close) valve ensures operation safety.• One touch connection operation.• Automatic shut-off valves are incorporated in both socket and plug (built-in design concept). The design construction prevents flf luid leakage on disconnection and allows minimum pressure losses.

Applications • The PCL series is simple connector that clamps the pipe by just inserting the pipe and pushing the lever using thumb. The pipe clamp promptly connects to refrigerant lines. The PCL series pipe couplers are popular with compressor unit manufacturers for applications in pressure leakage testing of the fif in coil and the refrigerant. These couplings save operation time ; labor cost and minimizes observed on the assembly lines.• The PCL series Pipe Clamp applicable flf luids are - All refrigerant, freon (R12, R22, R32, R410C, R407a, R134a), oil, water, inert gases and air.• Extremely useful in airtight leakage inspection application.
