36 HOLES OF THE FINEST Belle Mare Plage boasts two courses. The Legend and The Links.

The Links built in 2002 by Peter Allis and Rodney Wright is the newest course and is a five-minute transfer from the hotel. It is laid out on beautiful undulating terrain with raised tee boxes and greens. Lora holds the course record at The Links.

The Legends course was designed by South African champion, Hugh Baiocchi, it is located along one of the most stunning beaches in Mauritius. Each of the 18 holes has distinctive characteristics and the superb fairways are laid in the heart of an indigenous forest, with new greens built to USPGA specifications.

Teeing off the par 3 17th hole is a feast for the eyes and a test of the nerves. This championship course is set in the heart of a naturally beautiful site originally used to breed deer.

ABOUT LORA

Lora captured both Lancashire Senior and Junior County Championships twice before moving on to become England Girls Champion and English Intermediate Champion. During her teen years she was capped for England, and Great Britain and Ireland on several occasions.

In 1991, she transitioned from successful amateur to professional status, a career that spanned 20 years on the Women’s European tour and LPGA tour in the US. Her impressive career includes more than 50 top ten European finishes, 4 European Tour wins, twice winner of the Hassan Trophy in Morocco and winner of The Mauritius Open. She has five times finished in the top ten Final Order of Merit on the Women’s European Tour.

A highlight of Lora’s professional career came in 1994 when she was selected to represent Europe in the Solheim Cup played at the Greenbrier, in West Virginia, USA.

Committed to her professional development and ongoing learning, Lora completed her level 1 and 2 coaching certification courses with the PGA in 2006. It was a natural progression for Lora to enter the world of coaching following her retirement from professional play in 2011. A transition she has fully embraced as she shares her passion for the game with new and experienced golfers through coaching, after dinner speaking, club fitting and golfing holidays.

Mauritius is very dear to Lora’s heart and she is excited to host a mixed holiday in January 2018. Having visited more than 30 countries, Mauritius made a lasting impression on Lora and she hopes you too will experience the hospitality and beauty of this country and make memories lasting a lifetime.
