2020 New Jersey Site Remediation Conference Committee CALL FOR ABSTRACTS And instructions for Submittal The New Jersey Soil Remediation Conference (NJSRC) is the only conference dedicated specifically to the needs of the Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) and professionals conducting site remediation under the LSRP program. It promotes the core principals of the LSRP Association (LSRPA) and provides LSRPs and other environmental professionals with the opportunity to enhance their professional practice and showcase their technical, regulatory and consulting expertise. We welcome abstracts for oral and poster presentations for the 2020 NJSRC on topics related to the LSRP practice and the remediation of contaminated sites, with emphasis on the following themes: Innovative approaches to investigation and remediation Expedited site closure Assessing remediation effectiveness Remediation in fractured rock and complex geology Advanced diagnostic tools Resilience incorporated in LSRP site remediation Green and sustainable remediation in the LSRP program Ecological assessment and remediation Vapor intrusion assessment and vapor intrusion data evaluation Relevant academic research projects, including emerging contaminants, novel remediation technologies, biogeochemistry, geoinformatics, or NJ geology Instructions to Authors Submittals must be organized under the following required subheadings— o Background/Relevance to LSRPs and Site Remediation Page 1 of 3

CALL FOR ABSTRACTSAnd instructions for Submittal

The New Jersey Soil Remediation Conference (NJSRC) is the only conference dedicated specifically to the needs of the Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) and professionals conducting site remediation under the LSRP program. It promotes the core principals of the LSRP Association (LSRPA) and provides LSRPs and other environmental professionals with the opportunity to enhance their professional practice and showcase their technical, regulatory and consulting expertise.

We welcome abstracts for oral and poster presentations for the 2020 NJSRC on topics related to the LSRP practice and the remediation of contaminated sites, with emphasis on the following themes:

Instructions to Authors

Submittals must be organized under the following required subheadings— o Background/Relevance to LSRPs and Site Remediationo Presentation Abstract including discussion of presentation objectives, approach/activities,

and results/conclusions. Submit your abstract via email with the subject line “NJSRC 2020 Abstract Submission – last

name” to [email protected]. Please submit as a .doc file. The abstract title is limited to 200 characters and the abstract text is limited to 2,000 characters. Please indicate whether it is for an oral or poster presentation.

Remediation projects are often confidential. The presenter is responsible for obtaining any and all required releases and permissions, prior to submitting abstract.

All speakers must pay the registration fee to speak and attend the Conference All sessions will take place within the 2020 NJSRC, at the New Brunswick Hyatt Hotel, February 4

and 5, 2020

2020 New Jersey Site Remediation Conference Committee

The organizing committee reserves the right to accept or reject submittals at its sole discretion. Placement of presentations and posters will be at the sole discretion of the organizing

committee. We intent to request CECs for the oral presentations. For this purpose, we will need you to

submit your resume along with your abstract. This does not imply that every submittal will be approved. However, the selection committee will favor those abstracts that include CEC submittal information

We intend to award best student poster and best student presentation, as long as there are at least three qualifying entries in each category.

Important Dates

Deadline for submission: Friday October 4, 2019, 6:00:00 PM Eastern time Notification of acceptance: October 21, 2019 Deadline for withdrawal an accepted abstract: October 25, 2019, 2:00:00 PM Eastern time

Oral Presenters

Oral Presentations will be on February 5, 2020. The length of an oral presentation is 20 minutes (15 minutes presentation plus 5 minutes for

questions and answers). Presentation slides must be submitted in *.pptx” or “*.pdf” formats Presentation slides should be prepared using a 16:9 ratio.

Poster Presenters

Posters must be freestanding, mounted on a display board no bigger than 6-ft-wide by 4-ft-high. Posters must be suitable for display on a tripod. A tripod will be provided at the venue. You are responsible to provide your own materials. You are responsible for providing appropriate lashing for the board. The LSRPA is not responsible for damage or loss of presentation and supplies. Posters will be on display 5:00 pm February 4, 2020 through 3:30 pm February 5, 2020. Presenters must be at their posters from 8:30 am to 10:30 am and from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm on

February 5.
