This statewide Substance Abuse Overview provides statistics on substance abuse treatment in New Jersey for calendar year 2015. In 2015 there were 69,477 treatment admissions and 67,555 discharges reported to the New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services by substance abuse treatment providers. These reports were submitted through the web-based New Jersey Substance Abuse Monitoring System (NJSAMS). A few changes in this report now include pregnant women, number of admissions for unique clients, length of stay by level of care, detox continuing care status and detox continuing care by level of care.

The Statewide Overview includes:
