Fire service lovers rave enthusiastically: From historic WIKING molds, the Henschel HS 100 celebrates its premiere

as a turntable ladder and fi re engine – a fi re-fi ghting duo, which after many decades of wai-ting fi nally closes the model gap of the 1960s. The fi re prevention trio is complete with the Ford Escort as special operations vehicle of the early 1970s. Also ready for action for WIKING is the VW 1600, which once was used as a sedan in the typical blue of the Berlin police for maintaining order in the Western part of

the divided city. The Mercedes-Benz G drives up as somewhat of a contrast to this – for many decades, it has been used extensively in the "THW". Two more trailer trucks awaken memories of the 1960s: The MAN Pausbacke with the stanchion trailer for the early forward control truck generation in German truck-making, while the Volvo F88 with its to-wering cab had a downright revolutionary impact in 1965. With this new model in con-temporary ASG design, WIKING ties in with a historical collector‘s theme, because

the tradition-rich model maker once main-tained a close and intensive contact to the Swedish shipping company and collectors in Sweden. WIKING remembers historical model-making themes and ties in with them seamlessly. After many

years, there is a reunion with the "Confern" furniture moving company – this time around as VW T2 transporter after the original proto-type. The same applies to the Magirus cement mixer in the "Readymix" colors and the "Heitkamp" site trailer, which – manifestly augmented by the mixing machine – completes the authentic construction site model series. The Unimog with a cable drum low-

loading trailer miniaturizes a "Nordkabel" combination – once omnipresent in the streets of Berlin. Likewise, the model range is upda-ted by the MAN with "Meiller"tipper trailer as well as the heavy transport with the six-axle Scheuerle low-loading trailer with differential steering. It‘s great that WIKING has the R4 panel truck: The model makers use the movable roof opening to send the craftsman on his rounds in the all-purpose Renault with a typically contemporaneous ladder. Updated with new colors, the

Trabant 601 S de Luxe and the Mercedes-Benz 190 SL are showcased as automotive classics, while the jet-black VW Passat was taken from the current streetscape. For lovers of N-gauge, the VW Passat station wagon and a trio from the 1970s hit the model-making scene.
