Greetings In The Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,

New Hope, we love you.

I am incredibly humbled and grateful to God to serve as the Senior Pastor of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. On behalf of my family, Lady Nelson, Andrew, Ava, Walter, and I (Pastor Nelson) would like to convey our gratitude for your constant support and prayers over these past eight years in ministry in leading God’s people. I thank you in advance for your cards, expressions of love, and gifts of appreciation during our Pastoral Appreciation, as

it continues to touch our hearts to receive so much love from God’s people. We love all of you! As I look back over the past eight years, I appreciate the tremendous blessing that God has entrusted unto me to serve as the Senior Pastor, and Shepherd of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. We are a great church, and I believe that God is calling us to greater. God is So Amazing, as he has blessed us as Pastor and People, thus transforming our relationship into a more beautiful union, as I believe, New Hope is the best church in the world! We celebrate this 8th Anniversary, with great expectation for what God has in store for our ministry. We are ever praying, fasting, worshipping and serving for the glory of God to enlarge our territory. I thank God for his leading in Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit, as we are continually becoming a safe place for people to en-counter and experience God for themselves. New Hope, thank you for your love, joy, and commitment demonstrated through your service and enthusiasm in the vision God has given to serve this ministry over these past eight years. Church let us remain focused on our Christ-centered vision of Serving Christ, Serving the Congregation, and Serving the Community. I thank God for all of you, and for this ministry he has entrusted to our care. As Pastor of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, I pray that all of you will Learn us, Love us, and Help us to Lead God’s people under the di-rection of God’s Word, God’s Will and His Holy Spirit. As we gather in his name, I would like to thank my family for all their support and prayers. I would like to thank the Pastoral Appreciation Committee, all those who helped to make this Celebration possible, the Culi-nary Committee, and all who attended the Morning Service. Furthermore, I would like to thank my Pastor, Rev. Albert “Mailman” Morgan for sharing in my 8th Pastoral Anniversary. As we celebrate this year, we shall remain focused upon our crucified/resurrected Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who through his redemptive work we are allowed to witness this 8th Pastoral Anniversary. Therefore, let us be responsive in His grace, His mer-cy, His Spirit and thereby experience His joy as we seek continually to do His will. Because of Calvary,

Rev. David M. Nelson

GREETINGS FROM THE PASTOR’S APPRECIATION COMMITTEE

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths… Prov. 3:5,6

The Pastor’s Appreciation Committee, along with the entire New Hope Bap-tist Church extends a warm and heartfelt appreciation to our Pastor, Rev. David M. Nelson, and First Lady, Sis. Carla R. Nelson, for eight years of dedicated service to this church family. We thank God for sending us, a shepherd who has proven his love and commitment to us. We appreciate the dedicated work that you do for our church and for the interest you show in our children and youth. Your kind words of en-couragement are very meaningful and helpful to us as you teach us the Word of God, from which we can apply to our own daily lives. The sermons that you preach each Sunday gives us something that our souls can feast upon throughout the week. We pray that God will continue to use you as you make his Word clear. We are always happy to have with us, our ‘Pastor’s Pastor’, Rev. Albert Mor-gan, Pastor of Union Baptist Temple in Bridgeton, N.J. We look forward to his coming to help us celebrate! Last, but certainly not least, we thank God for continuing to send new souls into this vineyard through your preaching, teaching and example. To God be the Glory... We appreciate all of the members, Ministry Leaders, friends and well wishers for making Appreciation Day to our pastoral family a grand success.

Congregational Song

Hold to God’s Unchanging Hand

1. Time is filled with swift transitions.

Naught of earth unmoved can stand. Build your hopes on things eternal.

Hold to God’s unchanging hand.

CHORUS Hold to His hand, God’s unchanging hand. Hold to His hand, God’s unchanging hand.

Build your hopes on things eternal. Hold to God’s unchanging hand.

2.

Trust in Him who will not leave you. What so-ever years may bring. If by earthly friends forsaken.

Still more closely to Him cling.

CHORUS

4. When your journey is completed,

If to God you have been true, Fair and bright the home in Glory Your enraptured soul will view.

CHORUS

Responsive Scripture

Pastor’s Appreciation Eph 6: 10 & 11 Rom 10: 8-15

MIN: Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. CONG: Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. MIN: But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; CONG: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. MIN: For with the heart man believeth unto righteous-ness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salva-tion. CONG: For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. MIN: For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. CONG: For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. MIN: How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? ALL TOGETHER: And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things

“I have given my ministry to the glory and honor of God; therefore, I am not the owner

of my ministry, but simply the manager of it. If I am faithful to lead and feed the flock,

God will see that my ministry succeeds.”

My passion is to be a blessing to the body of Christ through the wholistic ministry of

pastoring, evangelism and edification.
