Discussion Questions | Read 1 Peter 1

1. Verse 13 begins with the word “therefore.” What does the “therefore” refer to? Why does that matter for how we understand verse 13 and following.

2. What kind of holiness does Peter call us to? How does this kind of holiness challenge you at home, work/school, church, neighborhood?

3. What does it mean to “live your lives as strangers here in reverent fear”?

4. What are some of the outward signs that a person has undergone a true change of heart?

5. Are you more like a pilgrim, an explorer, or a landowner on this earth? Explain.

6. Which of the characteristics in 1:13-16 and 2:1-2 is the greatest challenge for you? Explain. Which are the ones you do more easily?

7. 1 Peter was written to Christians who were suffering persecution. How might chapter 1 help people who suffer? How might it help you rely on God more?

Prayer Ministers are available following worship.

We are excited to launch a beta test of text-to-give today. When we are away or at home, we can still move in faith by investing in revival. Learn more at belpres.org/giving.
