Create96 would like to welcome you to the first ever volume of New Haven Create A Comic Book Day. We challenged New Haven to come together at The Grove and for each and every one of us to write, pencil, ink and letter their own comic book story in just 8 hours.

The book you’re about to read has just about about every style of art and story you could possibly imagine... and probably a few you couldn’t.

This book wouldn’t have been possible without the support of The City of New Haven Mayor’s Community Grant Program, The Grove and Ioannis but most of all it couldn’t have happened without the hard work and amazing creativity of New Haven’s newest comic book creators.

Create96 is a creative collaboration dedicated to inspiring people to explore their creative capacities. We believe that everyone is creative

and that the process of creating can be a transformative process. It’s not just about the things we create, it’s also

about who we become by creating.

Among the things we like to create are...

CreateUps – A CreateUp is an event where we invite an artist or expert to lead a hands on workshop that gets everyone making their own creations.

Challenges – In our Create96 Challenges we asked people to commit to creating one new thing in 30 days (this could be anything – a poem, song, painting, jewelry, non-profit, furniture, etc.), then we all get together for a “show and tell” to share our creations with the group and to tell our stories about the process.

School Programs – Create96 works with schools and after school programs to run special kid focused Challenges and CreateUps.
