Abst rac t A11eculine Bo,・bo,・esthes species from the Ryukyu Islands are re-examined. Twonamed species, orbo''esf/1es a加 'e'Isis MAEDA et NAKANE and o''00''esr/1es ama'malulsM AEDA et NAKANE are re-recorded from their original localities, and newly recorded fromIriomote-jima Is., and Okinoerabu-jima Is.、 respectively. Four new species are described:Bo,・bo,・est/1es htra11 sp nov.. B ki,ml1・al sp nov., B oil,no,1101 sp n o v and B. nakanei sp n o v .A key to all the species from these islands is also provided.

This is the seventh part of the new or little-known tenebrionid species from Japan, and dealswith a revisional study of Borbolesthes(Alleculinae: Tenebrionidae) species from the RyukyuIslands.

MIYATAKE(1985) illustrated two species of this genus only from the main islands of Japan(included Tsushima Is). Just a few years later, MAEDA and NAKANE(1988) described two newspecies, Borbo, esthes amamianus from Amami-oshima Is., and B kabirensis from Ishigaki-jjma Is., respectively. SAsAJl (1989) enumerated only B fulginosus from the Ryukyu Islands(Yaeyama Islands). AzUMA et a1. (2002) listed two species, B amamlanus and B tut9mosuSkabjrensls from the Ryukyu Islands. FromIriomote-j ima Is. of the Ryukyu Islands, MIWA(1g33) recorded a problematic species B fttlgtnosus originally described from Sze-tChOuen(chjna) presumably, jt must be a misidentification of one of the species from the RyukyuIslands to be mentioned in this paper.

Before gojng further in details, the authors wish to express cordial thanks to Mess「S the lateIsamu HIRAl (Sajtama), Satoshi INADA(Okinawa), the late Atsuo IZUMI (Tokyo), Hi「emuKAMEzAwA(Tokyo), Tatsunosuke KIMoT0(Tokyo), Masaaki KIMURA(Okinawa), Sadahi「oOHMoM0(Ibaragj), Hjdehiro ONoDERA(Ibaragi), Hiroshi OTOBE(Mie), TakaShi SHIMADA(shjzuoka), for offering the type materials. The authors also appreciate D「. MakOto KluCHI,Tsukuba City for his taking the photographs inserted in the Present PaPe「.
