Paid Leave & Time Off
Faculty, Academic Staff & Limited Employees Sick Leave:
Initial Entitlement:• 176 hours / month (12 days) for use during the first 18 months of
employment.After Initial Entitlement:• Earn 10.6 hours / month if 9-month employee.
Sick Leave Provisions• Accumulates without limit if all leave reports are submitted. • Hours reduced if all leave reports are not submitted.• Unused hours can be converted to credits to pay for State Group Health
Insurance at retirement (if eligible).
These allocations and earnings are subject to proration if less than 100% total appointment

Income Continuation Insurance (Short & Long-Term Disability)
Overview Provides up to 75% of gross base wages as replacement income if you are unable to
work due to illness or disability Standard ICI covers earnings up to $64,000
Supplemental ICI covers earnings from $64,001 to $120,000
Premium determined by elimination period and salary
Elimination Period Elimination period (also called waiting period) begins on the first full day you are
continuously and completely absent from work.
You select an elimination period of 30, 90, 125 or 180 days.
ICI benefits begin after you (whichever is longer):
Exhaust your accumulated sick leave (up to a maximum of 1,040 hours); or
Complete your elimination period.
