Audrey Zibelman

Chief Executive Officer, Australian Energy Market

Operator

Ms Zibelman has extensive experience in the public, private and not-for profit

energy and electricity sectors in the United States, most recently having held the

positions of Commissioner and Chair of the New York State Public Service

Commission (NYPSC) prior to her appointment as the Australian Energy Market

Operator’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director in 2017.

During her tenure at the NYPSC, Ms Zibelman led the design and

implementation of extensive regulatory and retail market changes to modernise

and transform the state’s electricity industry under New York Governor Andrew

M. Cuomo's ‘Reforming the Energy Vision’ plan.

A recognised national and international expert in energy policy, markets and

Smart Grid innovation, Ms Zibelman is a Founder and past President and Chief

Executive Officer of Viridity Energy, Inc., which she formed after more than 25

years of electric utility industry leadership experience in both the public and

private sectors.

Previously, Ms Zibelman was the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating

Officer of GO15 member organisation, PJM, a regional transmission organisation

responsible for operating the power grid and wholesale power market which

serves 14 states across the eastern United States.

Ms Zibelman also held legal and executive positions at Xcel Energy, served as

General Counsel to the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission, and was

Special Assistant Attorney General in the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office.

During her career, Ms Zibelman has served on numerous industry-related and

non-profit boards, including, but not limited to the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic

Reliability Councils. Ms Zibelman’s board experience also includes Advisor to

Secretary of Energy for the US Department of Energy and Advisory Council, New

York State Energy Research and Development Authority, the New York State

Planning Board and the New York State Emergency Planning Council.

Stephen Davy

Chief Executive Officer, Hydro Tasmania

Steve is Chief Executive Officer at Hydro Tasmania and has been with the

business since 2005.

Hydro Tasmania is Australia’s largest hydro company by volume generated with

over 30 hydro power stations and a hydro consulting business, Entura, operating

internationally. Hydro Tasmania’s mainland retail business, Momentum Energy,

sells electricity and gas on mainland Australia and on the Bass Strait Islands.

Steve has been at the forefront of Hydro Tasmania’s shift to becoming an

integrated energy business that enhances the value of our renewable energy

while seeing the benefits returning to the State.

Steve has overseen our commercial operations that include supporting mainland

retailing, contract and spot trading, major customer negotiations, supplier

arrangements and a range of operational activities.

Steve is the Deputy Chair of the Australian Energy Council and has previously

served as a representative for Generators on the National electricity Market’s

Reliability Panel.

Steve has previously worked in the banking industry, trading and marketing

commodities, currencies and derivative products and was Senior Vice President

at Bankers Trust Australia in the 1990s. He began his career in New Zealand in

the 1980s. Steve has an Honours Degree in Physics.

Richard Lowe

Executive Manager, Business Growth, TransGrid

Richard has over 25 years’ experience in Australian and international capital

markets in mergers and acquisitions, financing and operations across the

infrastructure sector. In a career spanning commercial law, project finance and

investment banking, Richard has led successful bids and financed major

projects and acquisitions valued at more than $100 billion.

Richard is responsible for growing TransGrid’s non-prescribed businesses

including new connections and network expansion, telecommunications and

property and strategic acquisitions and commercialising new technology

initiatives.

Prior to joining TransGrid in March 2017, Richard was Managing Director for

Macquarie Infrastructure’s $2bn infrastructure portfolio in India which included

significant businesses in the energy, telecommunications and transportation

sectors.

Consulting

Neil’s current roles include Chairman of Marchment Hill Consulting, and Chair of

the Clean Energy Council’s Distributed Energy Leadership Forum. He was until

recently the Founding Chairman of GreenSync and i.n. concepts, and previously

was a VP for AT Kearney, and the Global Energy Practice leader for PA

Consulting Group. His earlier career included working in natural resource policy

for the Victorian Government and as a lecturer at the University of Melbourne.

Following an extensive career in global energy markets, Neil now actively

supports the decarbonisation of the electricity system, specialising in the

evolution of technology, business models, regulations and markets at the “grid

edge” – harnessing the value of innovation and customer engagement to deliver

secure, reliable, affordable and low-emissions energy services.
