UPDATEs:

•CISMA is reactiviating off of energy from the FLEPPC/SEEPPC

CISMA meeting session in May.

•End of May call worked out a basic plan with Jim King of Hernando County and Keith Morin of the Florida Park Service as co-chairs.

•Events scheduled so far:

•August 14 – General Membership meeting at Withlacoochee Forestry Center HQ building in Brooksville

•Committee selections will be made so we can move forward

•Featuring Cheryl Millett of Nature Conservancy speaking on Lygodium

.5 CEU offered for this meeting

•October 9 – Forest Stewardship Workshop with Chris Demers of UF/IFAS at Withlacoochee Forestry Education Center classroom 2

•Denise Wilde will assist with field trip portion of workshop

Jim and Keith’s really BASIC goals right now:

•Make the website more complete:

-Region specific info about plant coverage and ID

-More workday/problem plant photos

-Postings about current exotic events in region

•Gain as much partnering as possible

-Split workload so no one is overwhelmed

-Delegate tasks to those best equipped

-Get a wide variety of agencies and personnel types input

•Set achievable goals to start success in the first year -Two CISMA workdays by end of year -Presence/host two educational events (one scheduled already) -Workday banners and outreach event signage with logos
