BAPTISM PROCEDURE: Baptisms are held on the first and third Sunday of every month at 1:30 pm. This is the preferred time for Baptisms. Parents requesting a private Baptism must write to the pastor. Private baptisms usually occur in church; however if a funeral comes in, the Baptism may be transferred to Resurrection Chapel. Both parents are required to attend the Baptismal Class. a) Initial registration meeting with priest-on-duty in Rectory, weekdays,
9:00—5:00 or at 7:00 pm. (No appointment necessary). b) Information class with Sister Danielle on last Monday of the
month for one hour 7:30—8:30 pm prompt in lower Church Hall. c) Next classes will be March 25 and April 29, 2019. (Please do not ask for

There will be a First Holy Communion Certificate Mass to honor the students in the First Holy Communion Class of 2019 on Sunday, May 19th at 10:00am. The boys and girls will be processing into church, wearing their First Communion attire and will be sitting in reserved pews in the front of the church After Mass, parents and students will go to the Lower Church Hall for refreshments and to collect First Holy Communion Certificates. Please note that seating for this Mass will be limited. Refreshments will be served.

GRADITUDE FOR MY MOTHER Dear Lord, today I turn to you to give you
thanks for my mother. With your own gift of life, she bore me in her womb and gave me life. She tenderly, patiently cared for me and taught me to walk and talk. She read to me and made me laugh. No one delighted in my successes more; no one could comfort me better in my
failures. I am so grateful for how she mothered me and mentored me, and even disciplined me.
Most of all, Lord, on this Mother's Day, give my mother the graces she most needs and
desires today. I ask you this, in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior forever and ever.

DIAPER AND BABY ITEMS
COLLECTION TODAY May is the month of Mary and this year we are celebrating the Blessed Mother Mary and all mothers
by reaching out to young mothers in need. For two weekends, May 11th and
12th, Mother’s Day weekend, and May 18th and 19th, the Outreach Committee will be collecting boxes of diapers, baby wipes and new baby clothes/blankets etc. in St. Joseph’s chapel at the front of the church. These much needed items will be distributed to families through our sister parish Holy Rosary, and Good Counsel Daystar home. Please donate diapers of all sizes, baby wipes and new layette items for these young mothers. Share the joy of Motherhood and thank you for your continued generosity and support.

Confirmation will take place on June 2nd at 12:30 pm and at 3:15 pm. This 12:30 Mass is open to parishioners, keep in mind it will last 90 minutes and seating will be limited.
The Confirmation Certificate Mass will take place on June 9th at 10:00 am.

“Both Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and said, ‘It was necessary that the word of God be spoken to you first, but since you reject it and condemn yourselves as unworthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles…. The Gentiles were delighted when they heard this and glorified the word of the Lord. All who were destined for
eternal life came to believe, and the word of the Lord continued to spread through the whole region.” Pretend that you are in the audience as Paul spoke, so convincingly. Place yourself in the shoes first of the Israelite and see how well you accept or reject what you hear. You were urged to remain faithful to the grace of
God. Now change your shoes and see you too are destined for eternal life and believe. The magic of Paul and Barnabas is God’s grace and we all today, gifted with eternal life and the Holy Spirit, are to live and bring that life to others. We hear and listen and become witnesses as well. One of the encouraging words of Pope Francis is that we speak out ‘boldly’ of the Christ we know.

MOTHER’S DAY NOVENA Please submit the Mothers Day Remembrance envelopes in the first collection today. A novena of Masses will be celebrated for the names submitted. Please list names of Mothers on the top front of the envelopes. The suggested donation is $20. It is important to remember and honor our Mothers at Mass.
SACRAMENT MEETING FOR CONFIRMATION 2020
Two Parent and Student Confirmation Meetings will take place on Monday, May 13th and Wednesday, May 22nd at 7 - 8pm in Resurrection Church. Incoming 8th Grade students and one parent must attend one of these two evening meetings if you wish your child to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Spring of 2020. Prior to this important sacrament meeting, Resurrection Middle School Students and Private Catholic School students must complete the online registration found on www.ryeprep.org. Students of PREP (Parish Religious Education Program) follow the instructions emailed to you on March 21st about the re-registration process, or phone 914-925-2754. *******************************
NEW ALTAR SERVERS A new class for Altar Servers at Resurrection is about to begin. Any boy or girl in grade 5 or grade 6 is welcome to become an Altar Server. It is fun and easy! It is an important job to assist the priest at Mass. New Altar Servers begin serving Weekend Mass in the Summer or September. Training classes will be held in late May and early June. We will try to accommodate busy schedules (PREP, CYO, sports, tutor, etc.)If interested in becoming an Altar Server in our Parish please call the Rectory (914) 967-0142 Monday – Friday between 9:30 am and 4 pm.
Last Saturday, May 6th there was two beautiful Masses for 80 children from Resurrection School and PREP who received our Lord in Holy Communion
for the first time.
