Hainanese kopitiams was their foods. Drawn from their culinary

backgrounds in work in Eurpoeans households, dishes were hybridized

creations with Hainanese-Western roots. The breakfast of brewed coffee with kaya

butter toast and half-boiled eggs with soya sauce was a development of the original

British breakfast.

Heat pan. Quickly ADD and CUT carrot cake into small pieces with frying ladle.

FRY CARROTCAKE till golden

brown.

Push carrot cake aside and leave a hole at middle.

Fry everything & mix well.

ADD PRESERVED RADISH, GARLIC & CHILLI SAUCE.

It is one of the Teowchew delicacies. It is one of the Teochew

delicacies. delicacies. Thus, pronounced as Chai Tau Kway. This is

a steamed cake is a steamed cake of rice flour and shredded white

radish radish - the ‘carrot’ it’s named after. Diced and stir-fried with garlic, salt-pickled radish,
