Dear Compliance Colleagues, On behalf of the GBA Compliance School Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce that the 2018 Georgia Bankers Association Basic Compliance School will be May 6-11, 2018, at the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel in Athens. GBA is once again proud to partner with the South Carolina Bankers Association for the 2018 session, and we look forward to welcoming South Carolina compliance specialists to Georgia in May! As we prepare to host our fourth Compliance School, I’d like to share what one graduate had to say about her student experience: “It is an honor and privilege to be a graduate of the 2017 GBA Advanced Compliance School. From the materials to the instructors to interacting with my classmates, the knowledge I gained has been extremely beneficial to my job each day. The GBA staff is top notch and go above and beyond to make sure each attendee has everything they may need to have a successful week of school.” - Angela Woodard, Loan Compliance Officer, SunMark Community Bank, Hawkinsville Taught by regionally and nationally recognized faculty, this year’s curriculum has been designed to provide a dynamic training opportunity for compliance professionals. This school provides a solid foundation on which students will be able to build a successful compliance management program that will thrive in today’s ever-changing regulatory environment, as well as for many years to come. We look forward to seeing you or your bankers at the 2018 GBA Compliance School! Sincerely, Thomas Williams, Chair, GBA Compliance School Board of Directors SVP, Senior Compliance Officer United Bank, Griffin
