Richard Batty joins LeighFisher to expand our management consulting client services in surface transportation. LeighFisher is pleased to announce the addition of Richard Batty to our management consulting staff. He has 25 years of experience in management consulting and the rail industry in North and South America, Europe, and Asia. Richard strengthens our rail and other surface transportation capabilities and resources in the following areas: policy development, organizational effectiveness, and transaction advice (including public-private partnerships). In addition to surface transportation services, Richard will support our aviation clients with advice on organizational effectiveness, enabling us to provide our clients cross-market experience and best practices across multiple sectors.

Richard is based in LeighFisher's Reston, Virginia, office. He works with public and private sector clients in policy and strategy development, organizational effectiveness, financial appraisal, and marketing. Previously, Richard led the U.K. rail team at Booz & Company, advising on the U.K.’s Rail Value for Money study. His experience also includes advising on the creation of U.K. infrastructure management company Network Rail and its acquisition of the existing infrastructure management company. Richard then created and led Network Rail’s internal consulting team, advising Board members on strategic decisions and organizational improvements. Richard has also worked in the U.S., Argentina and Chile, in particular on privatization and sector restructuring.
