PRESIDENT’S REPORTBy Isaac Yates

Welcome home to many residents that go north for the summer and others who have been on vacations. We hope you have enjoyed a good summer. We had a good turnout for our September TGHoA Board meeting. Members gave us some good comments at the end of the

meeting.Hopefully many of the Garden residents who are

not members of TGHoA will give full consideration to becoming a member this fall and winter. Support your neighbor members and stand by them to keep your TGHoA strong.

The Board members work for you and we value your support and suggestions so we can continue to have a good relationship with Mr. Mihevic and the best Park on the West Coast.

We have three open seats on the Board for 2016-2017. If you would like to serve on the Board, please have your application to us before the deadline of December 9, 2015.

Our next Board meeting will be on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 in the Clubhouse. Refreshments and fellowship at 6:30 PM and the meeting will follow at 7:00 PM. All Garden residents are welcome.

Representative Buchanan will be at the Parrish YMCA, Saturday Sept. 12th.H. Refreshment Committee: Darcy Thing is still out of the park but tonight Dianne Howington

provided refreshments.Old Business:

1. Health Expo for 2016 will be basically health not a senior expo. Most vendors want to be contacted closer to the date; January 16, 2016 from 10 a.m. till 1 p.m. Food will be available in the kitchen for purchase.

New Business:1. Isaac discussed the lot rent from prior years and how the BoD has helped in getting Mr. Mihevic

to negotiate. A 3 year commitment was given for $50 cap and has been agreed upon again starting with 2016 lot rent. Communication with the office has improved over the years and the BoD had a chance to have a positive meeting in March 2015.

Comments from Directors:1. Jim read the budget for 2016 based on 170 paying members.2. Bill replied about answers residents give him about not joining. Just contact him and he will

make sure to get people signed up.3. Dianne replied to getting membership up. She thanked Val for her help in the beginning of the

TGHoA. She encouraged people to talk to each other and join the HOA.Comments from Members:A resident asked about the rent survey. Are surrounding parks having increases? Yes, every year and Jim explained

what was in the report.1. How often is the pool tested? Pool is tested every day. County checks every 30 days.2. Who watches the pool and fitness area to make sure people are supposed to be here legally?

Feels there should be a lock on the pool or a key/lock system. Ask anyone that you feel shouldn’t be on the property why they are present.

3. Member stated that if HOA doesn’t place the past in the past then it will never move forward. Even hinting about the past causes residents not to want to join in the present.

4. Was there any conversation with Mr. Mihevic about the growth of Parrish area? No, there was no information discussed.

There being no further business to come before the Board, a motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 7:50 p.m. Next BoD meeting is October 14, 2015.

SOUTHEASTERN GUIDE DOGSFrom http://www.guidedogs.org/activities/campus-tours/

Southeastern Guide Dogs offers guided tours of our campus Monday through Saturday by reservation. Tour visitors will enjoy a guided walking tour of our beautiful 35-acre campus. You will learn about our mission and what it takes to create a guide dog team. This is a walking tour; we recommend wearing comfortable clothing and shoes and bringing water.

Just inside the front gate lies the intersection of Independence Drive and Freedom Way, bordered by a series of pathways known as the Freedom Walk. On most days, visually impaired students and their new guide dogs can be seen practicing on this outdoor classroom, learning to work and walk together. Students encounter crosswalks and man-made obstacles on our Freedom Walk as they learn to trust their dogs to safely guide them.

For just $10.00 per person (which helps us buy dog food!), we’ll reserve a spot on a tour just for you. This is a walking tour; we recommend wearing comfortable clothing and shoes and bringing water.

• Reservations must be made for every person in your party.

• Reservations are non-refundable.• Tours will be cancelled and rescheduled in the case

of inclement weather.

REFRESHMENT COMMITTEEBy Darcy Thing

I am enjoying my summer so far. Variable weather but it looks like it will be nice for camping. Will be back in Oct; see you then.

SEPTEMBER 2015 MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE REPORTBy Bill Clauser 941-981-5410

Summer’s over? Yeah not quite as hot as it has been, and very soon our northern friends will be here.

It’s been quiet the last couple of months, but we have gotten a few NEW residents to join us and we look forward to many more. I, and one of my board members, WILL be at our table at Tuesday

morning coffee to sign you up for the 2016 membership, starting October 6th. See you there?

Yes, I know it is early morning, and I also do not like getting up that early, BUT again, just call me and I will visit your home at YOUR convenience; it would be my pleasure.

PARRISH CIVIC ASSOC REPORT From September 2015 Parrish Village News

If you want to have a really good time listening to some talented musicians and see lots of great art from local artists, circle Saturday October 24th on your calendar and plan to attend the second Music & Art by the Train concert and art show. Tickets are only $5.00 with kids 12 and under getting in free. The show starts at 11:00 a.m. at the Florida Railroad Museum in Parrish. The ever-popular Kim Betts & the Gamble Creek Band is the featured group and they are joined by several talented local singers and bands including the recent winners of the Bradenton Idol competition - some on the verge of a real breakthrough in the music industry. If you did not get a chance to attend this competition, you are going to be amazed at the talent young Idol Winners Jillian Polk and Kaitlin Folsom have along with finalist 11-year old Giana Bisceglia who brought the audience to its feet with her rendition of Frank Sinatra’s “That’s Life”. The show starts with a performance by the amazingly-talented Manatee School of the Arts Jazz Band at 11:00 a.m. followed at 12:30 by Kim Betts & the Gamble Creek Band. Following Kim are more of the rising young stars from the area including Brooke Bonderer, Matt Walden, Jared Armstrong and others. The concert is produced by Del Couch and Caleb Grimes Productions. The concert will go to 4:00 p.m. and there will be plenty of refreshments
