NYE SMART GOALS Nutrition Education & Promotion Goal

By September 29, 2016 purchase and distribute a minimum of three posters for each school kitchen to hang. Posters will be purchased by Food Service Dept. 2. Each Wellness Coordinator will meet a minimum of two times each School year with Principals to discuss Educating Parents, Staff and Students. Topics should include whether the Wellness Policy is posted on each Schools website. Nutrition Education. Physical activity goals. Other School-Based Activities. 3. Starting 2016/2017 SY for our Schools that participate in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable program, a weekly flyer of the items that will be served will be shared with all Staff to help teach the students what it is they are trying. Hopefully get Teachers to make copies for students to take home and share with their parents.

Physical Activity Goal By October 7, 2016 each School Wellness Coordinator will meet with Principal and Staff to approach them

with the idea of having 60 second exercise breaks between subjects during the School day. Make suggestions for starting a before and after school exercise club. Suggest competitions between schools for the most exercise minutes in a day. Suggest Schools post activities on their School websites.

Other Wellness Goal For the School year 2016-2017 have a social media page for all Schools to find healthy recipes, ideas for healthy

fundraisers, incorporate healthy snacks for teaching math instead of candy. Have it in place by September 30, 2016.
