NETZSCH Drive Head

NETZSCH Drive Head and their functions:
Advantages
The NETZSCH Drive Head is connected directly to the well head, eliminating the concrete base required by some other pumping systems.
The space required for installation on the well is much smaller than many other artificial lift systems.
Unlike other pumping systems, the NETZSCH PC Pump System has a much lower risk of accidents if people or animals approach the Drive Head.
The API flange allows the connection directly without adapters when changes other systems to NETZSCH PC Pump System

Thrust Bearing Life Ca90
Transfer the drive power to the the pump through a rod string.
Providing the seal of the fluid between the well and polished rod.
Support the weight of the rod string and the axial load associated, determined by the pumping action from a Downhole Pump.
Control the Backspin by different variants of brake systems.
The simple design minimizes the maintenance and requires little lubrication.
The bearing system of the Drive Head from the PC Pump offers operation without vibration for a long time.
It can be easily adjusted to the production rates, changing rotations through mechanical process or with speed controllers (in case of motors with internal combustion with a simple change of acceleration).

No gears. Economical and reliable. Are used where expected higher
rotations for application. The rotations are reached changing
the set of pulleys and/ or through drive by variable frequency drive (VSD).

Drive Head Angle are used who are expected low speeds for the application, particularly for pumps PC Pumps with high flow.
The Drive Head has a reduction integrated.
The geometry of Drive Head Angle allows the alternative use from a motor with combustion or hydraulic.
If the motor with combustion is used, the rotation expected is achieved by a change in acceleration.

NETZSCH drive heads are approved in compliance with directive 94/9/EC with the classification II 2G EEx c,k II T3.
The drive head is designed for commercial use and conforms to the following regulations and norms:

Based on the mechanical friction between the rotating and stationary parts, the brake is activated by compressing the surface.
The brake system backspin operating with free wheels.
The Drive Head shaft turns freely in a clockwise direction, but hang on opposite direction.
To release the energy accumulated in the rod string and relieve the brake, the frictional force “F” must be released gradually.
This mechanical backspin brake operates by means of a built-in disc brake. In case, that the drive head shaft experiences opposite rotation due to backspin, a small hydraulic pump driven by the drive shaft rotation generates hydraulic pressure which activates the disc brake. The disc brake restricts or avoids the driven shaft from rotating, depending on the braking torque caused by the hydraulic pressure on the brake piston. A mechanism of the control unit releases the disc break continuously to avoid an overheating of brake pads and disc. In normal operation, the hydraulic pump works only as a circulating pump without generating pressure.
The hydraulic brake system works through a vane pump built-in, but without discharge connection. The oil in the camera is forced to go through all the internal spaces of the brake system preventing the automatic acceleration of the rotation (backspin). The braking system is directly coupled to a free wheels and it to the Drive Head shaft. In order to the turn in operate conditions (working conditions), the brake system remains stationary (static) and it is activated only during the reverse rotation.
Operates independently without needing to be controlled.
Due to its hydrodynamic characteristics, the bracking effect occurs in one direction.
The damage caused by over speed the drive buffer is reliably avoided.
Drive Heads with two brake systems, applied where high torque is required and deep wells;
Combinations can be hydraulic and mechanic or double hydraulic.
The system HB-M operate by hydraulic motor, acoplated to a free wheel to the drive shaft.
In case of backspin, the free wheel locked moves a hydraulic motor.
The motor pumping oil fluid due a valve, regulating the back pressure and the backspin rotation.
