Network EngineerLevel 4 Apprenticeship Programme Summary

The aim of the programme is to provide the skills and knowledge required to begin a career in IT as a Network Engineer or similar role. The duration of this apprenticeship programme is typically 18 months delivered in a blend of online/offline methods whilst staying within the workplace. This apprenticeship is also recognised for entry onto the Register of IT Technicians upon completion.

Conducted by an independent assessor following an interview during the last few months of the programme.

Working closely with business, we deliver our apprenticeships through interactive instructor-led online learning sessions via Skype. These act as a virtual classroom conducted twice weekly within the workplace with a fully qualified trainer.

Network Security- This module provides learners with an understanding of security threats and countermeasures and how to configure Network Security.

CompTIA Network+- CompTIA Network+ helps develop a career in IT infrastructure covering troubleshooting, configuring, and managing networks.

devices • Use devices such as switches and routers to segment

network traffic and create resilient networks • Identify benefits and drawbacks of existing network

configurations • Implement network security, standards, and protocols • Troubleshoot network problems • Support the creation of virtualised networks

Installation, Storage, and Compute with Windows Server 2016- Gain knowledge around storage and compute technologies in Windows Server 2016.

Key Topics • Prepare and install a Nano Server, a Server Core installation

• Plan a server upgrade and migration strategy• Understand various storage options• Implement and manage Storage Spaces and Data

Deduplication• Configure a Network Load Balancing (NLB) cluster,

and plan for an NLB implementation
