The goal of Net Texts is to replace
expensive one-dimensional printed
text books for middle and highschool students with crowd-sourced,
teacher-approved, high quality, free or
inexpensive, multimedia content from
the Internet to be displayed on the
iPad (for now).

The content will be organized by units
of study, like chapters of a book.
But, in contrast to the linear approachto learning that a textbook requires,
Net Texts' units of study can
encourage non-linear learning.

The iPad, due to its unique characteristics,such as instant-on, 12 hour battery life,touch screen, size, weight, substantial
storage, and tablet format, is the first truereplacement to the text book.
If used properly, students' learning experienceshould be substantially enhanced.
In this endeavor, we believe the iPad needs tobe controlled and organized strictly as alearning tool.
