Introduction to searches on netTrekkerTRANSCRIPT

The next few slides will introduce you to the main page of NetTrekker d.i.
We will look at each piece and go over thoroughly.
There will also be guided practice after each piece we review.
---This section shows your username, school, logout, home icon
---- Icons that show level of webpages. Since we are middle school we would click the middle school icon.
---- click on web to search for websites.
---- then type in keyword
This will bring you to a list of websites.
--- type in information looking for
--- different websites are listed.
--- notice the different components of websites, we will go over these tomorrow.
--- type in name & it will list famous people with that name.
--- or do an advanced search type in name and specifics you know
---you can do the same with images. Either type in image needed or simply click on image icon. This will bring you to a list of images broken down by subject. Ex. People, places, events, etc.
Click on whichever subject and sub-subject you wish to find more information about.
This will bring you to sub-categories of that subject.
You may then search for a website, image, person, etc.
Examples follow
Simply follow the same search steps you did for Science, Math, Social Studies, and Language Arts.

Divide up by teaching teams. Search for the following:◦ Resource for PythagoreanTheory◦ The Gettysburg Address◦ An image of an atom◦ Find a resource for writing poetry◦ Search for a standard in content area of your
choice. Search until you get down to strand, then use a keyword to find a web resource in netTrekker d.i.
