• Care for newborn babies who are healthy or born with

defects.• Work in a delivery room,

nursery or NICU.• Transfer babies to other

hospitals.• You have to like working with

mothers, babies, and families.

• Work environment is in hospitals.

Education and Training

• Must be a registered nurse (RN).

• Some nursing programs have an elective course in

neonatal nursing.• Entry requirements depend

on institution.• In high school take as much

math and science classes.• Most people have to work in

neonatal clinic for at least one year.

Job Outlook• Growing faster than average

through 2014.• Great demand in the future.• Very good, especially if you

have masters degree or higher.

• Lots of positions available due to downsizing in previous

years.• Cutbacks decrease in number

of nurses choosing advanced practice in education.

Earnings

• Salary is determined by many factors.

• Starting around $48,000 with no experience.

the Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT).

• All Doctor of Pharmacy programs require you take

postsecondary courses such as chemistry, biology, and anatomy

• You will have to do supervised work experiences in hospitals

and retail pharmacies.
