A Vision to develop the Nelson Mandela Museum into a World class destination which will materially alter the course of Economic Development in the region.

Funding Initiatives

Establish a management company consisting of Museum representatives, Foundation trustees, development group i.e. IDC and a South African company with strong international links (Major globally listed international company, ) and others Approach 100 International donor companies for

sponsorships of $10 million each. Approach 100 National donor companies for

sponsorships of R10 million each Approach National government (or IDC / DBSA) for

bridging finance and Financial Governance. Promote the project internationally using the

facilities of members on the steering Committee.As founder donors the 200 companies will have special privileges for members including:

V.I.P. trips to museum linked to exclusive tours. Membership of an exclusive club with a Corporate display

area within Museum precinct. Marketing spin-off of an association to this prestigious facility.

CONCLUSIONNowhere else in this country has the opportunity for a development of this

nature and the unlocking of the potential of Nelson Mandela’s Gift to the Nation. This project will drive the Turnaround Strategy so necessary to address the problems of this area and see meaningful sustainable Economic

development.

This project is a positive step to develop existing opportunities which need to

be unlocked to form the basis of Economic rejuvenation of this part of

the country. This area has all the necessary resources but needs a

master plan to set this turnaround strategy in motion.
