Part 1: How God gives fresh assignments
NEHEMIAH God’s assignment on a man
Nehemiah 1:1-11 (NIV) 1 The words of Nehemiah son of Hacaliah: In the month of
Kislev in the twentieth year, while I was in the citadel of Susa, 2 Hanani, one of my brothers, came from Judah with some
other men, and I questioned them about the Jewish remnant that survived the exile, and also about Jerusalem. 3 They said
to me, "Those who survived the exile and are back in the province are in great trouble and disgrace. The wall of
Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates have been burned with fire." 4 When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the
God of heaven.

1. ASK FOR A FRESH ASSIGNMENT!
…. in the twentieth year, while I was in the citadel of Susa, 2 Hanani, one of my brothers, came from Judah
with some other men, and I questioned them about the Jewish remnant that survived the exile, and also about Jerusalem. 3 They said to me, "Those who survived the exile and are back in the province are in great trouble and disgrace. The wall of Jerusalem is broken down,
and its gates have been burned with fire."
2. STIFFEN YOUR SPINE
Proverbs 14:12 (NIV) 12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the
end it leads to death.
Jeremiah 29:10-11 (NIV) 10 This is what the Lord says: "When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my gracious promise to bring you back to this place. 11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.
3. WHAT’S THE PROPHECY OVER YOU
John 2:19 (NIV) 19 Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple,
and I will raise it again in three days."
19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received
from God? You are not your own;
1 Corinthians 6:19 (NIV)
Jeremiah 31:31-34 (NIV)
31 "The time is coming," declares the Lord, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. 32 It will not be like the covenant I made with their forefathers when I took them
by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant, though I was a husband to them," declares the Lord. 33 "This
is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time," declares the Lord. "I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. 34 No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest,"
declares the Lord. "For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."
4 When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and
prayed before the God of heaven.
4. WHO OR WHAT BRINGS YOU TO TEARS?
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (NIV) 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all
comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort
we ourselves have received from God.
1 John 3:8 (NIV) 8 … The reason the Son of God appeared was to
destroy the devil's work.
Matthew 13:37-40 (NIV) 37 He answered, "The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. 38 The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one, 39 and the enemy who
sows them is the devil.
