    NEC and SpiderCloud Wireless to accelerate indoor deployments of small cell Networks

    for medium to large enterprise customers of mobile operators

    Available immediately, NEC to use SpiderClouds SmartCloud System for reliable

    operator managed mobility services indoors maximizing use of wireless spectrum

    London, June 21, 2012 NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) today announced that it ispartnering with SpiderCloud Wireless, a leading provider of 3G Small Cells for medium to

    large enterprises. SpiderClouds Enterprise Radio Access Network (E-RAN) technology

    enables mobile network operators to deliver scalable indoor mobile access and applicationservices for medium to large enterprises more rapidly and cost-effectively than ever before.

    As part of the partnership, NEC will provide the SpiderClouds SmartCloud system to itsexisting and new customers as part of its end-to-end Small Cell solution offering which also

    includes Small Cell products for the residential and small enterprise market segments. TheSmartCloud system consists of a Services Node and self-organizing Radio Nodes. The

    Services Node connects to NECs Small Cell gateway over the Iuh interface and the RadioNodes connect to a Services Node deployed on the enterprise LAN.

    Increased enterprise reliance on mobile access to voice and data anywhere, using personal

    smartphones and tablets, often referred to as Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), hasincreased the pressure on IT professionals to simplify wireless access inside large and

    medium enterprises. For the first time, Mobile Operators now have a rapid and cost-effectivesystem available for flexible deployment to enterprises of any size, addressing ITs wireless

    challenges.

    detection and prevention, 802.1x based authentication and 802.11u. NEC has plans tosupport LTE in the future releases of E-RAN system.
