About ISTE:
Gandhi Engineering College, Bhubaneswar
(GEC) was established in the year 2006 as a self
financing institute by Viswa Bharati Foundation
(Trust), Bhubaneswar. GEC is approved by
AICTE and Government of Odisha, and is
affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology,
Rourkela, Odisha. Since inception it has shown
an exponential growth as a premier technical
institution in the country.
The Indian Society for Technical Education
(ISTE) is the leading national professional non-
profit making society for the technical education
system in our country with the motto of career
development of teachers and personality
development of students and overal l
development of our technical education system.
At present, ISTE has a very large and an effective
membership base consisting of 124024 Life
Members, 5 lakh Student members, 2734 Institutional
Members, 1369 Faculty Chapters, 1479 Student
Chapters at institutional level and 17 Sections at State
level. The major objective of the ISTE is to provide
quality training programmes to teachers and
administrators of technical institutions to update their
knowledge and skills in their fields of activity and to
assist and contribute in the production and
development of top quality professional engineers and
technicians needed by the industry and other
organisations.

ndThe 22 ISTE state level annual student convention is
a forum for the exchange of scientific and technical
innovative concepts and the role of student in shaping
towards excellence in the field of engineering and its
applications. The convention provides a conductive
ambience for students to show their inherent talents
and to propagate innovations towards further
evolution through different technical events. The
convention comprises several technical events for the
engineering/polytechnics students and thus brings
them together a common platform to share their thknowledge to meet the global challenges. The 49
National annual faculty convention brings together
technologists, change makers, impact investors,
social innovators and impact accelerators on a single
panel for an engaging discussion around the topics of
innovation for social impact.
