CASE STUDY OF A SAFE AND SUCCESSFUL POWERPLANT DECOMMISSIONING

Commissioned: 1971

Offline: December 31, 2005

Location: Laughlin, Nevada

December 2005: Plant taken offline as

newer, more efficient plant comes online.

June 2009: Owner selects NCM as

partner in demolition, decommissioning,

remediation and asset recovery.

October 2009: NCM begins the work

decommissioning this complex, 2,500-

acre site project, which includes early

collaboration with the owner to identify

and catalog all resalable and recyclable

assets to be recovered.

July 2012: More than 245,000 man

hours into the project, NCM has safely

completed the majority of the work

without a lost time incident. The client

has benefited from millions of dollars in

shared asset recovery, helping them pay

for a significant portion of the work.
