NATIONAL COUNCIL OF

HISPANIC EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM MANAGERS

The NCHEPM is a body consisting of an executive board and membership from Federal agencies and other organizations from across the United States. Most members have been appointed as their agency’s designee responsible for building relationships between Federal agencies and the Hispanic community.

MISSION

⋅ Promote public service as a professional career within the Hispanic community. ⋅ Network and share information on resources and best practices regarding results-oriented

programs successful in overcoming the underutilization of Hispanic Americans in the Federal Governments workforce.

⋅ Create and administer public and private partnerships that result in an increase of Hispanics in the Federal government.

⋅ Serve as a principle advisory body to senior officials on Hispanic employment issues.

PURPOSE

⋅ Provide an open educational forum to ensure that Federal Government Departments, Agencies, and Hispanic Employment Program Managers successfully implement programs and personnel management policies aimed to improve the recruitment, employment, education, career advancement, and retention of Hispanic Americans in the Federal Government.

⋅ Develop partnerships with organizations in the public, private, and non-profit sectors on issues relating to the elimination of barriers to equal access and opportunity, to identify opportunities for innovation, and to find common ground, which can be pursued together for the benefit of the Hispanic community.

⋅ Network and share information and resources to increase collaborative efforts of agency HEPMs among one another and within their own agencies.

⋅ Promote public service as a professional career.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership includes full-time or collateral-duty HEPMs, Associates, Partners and Advisors.

⋅ Associates are defined as individuals (Federal or non-Federal) who support the Council’s objectives but are not current HEPM’s.

⋅ Partners are defined as members of any affinity groups in support of the Council’s objectives and advancement of its members.

⋅ Advisors are defined as individuals that provide technical expertise for the advancement of the Council.
