Norfolk Country Club

welcomes General Manager Following a national search we are pleased to announce that

our next General Manager, John Peterson, will be joining the

Norfolk Country Club on May 13, 2012. John previously was

the General Manager of the Youche Country Club, in Crown

Point, IN. John has an Associate degree in Applied Science in

Institutional Foods Management from the Indiana Vocational

Technical Collage, South Bend, Indiana. John began his

career in Country Club management with the Hubbard Trail

Country Club, Hoopeston, Ill in 1981. John was an executive

chef in Indiana and was an instructor teaching and

implementing a two year curriculum in restaurant and hotel

management and culinary arts. John comes to Norfolk with

over 30 years of experience in Club Management.

John is looking forward to overseeing the continued

improvement of the Club’s facilities, and will be working hard

to ensure that the service levels offered are in keeping with the

standards of the Club and exceed the expectations of the

Members. John’s extensive experience in all aspects of

hospitality will prove vital as the Club looks forward to a

Manager who will oversee all operations of the Norfolk

Country Club.

John, and his wife Cassie, are very much looking forward to

calling Norfolk, NE home. new3595 Please join in welcoming

our new General Manager, John Peterson when you’re out at

the club.

On behalf of the Board of Directors,

Frank Arens

NCC President

General Manager’s Corner

Thanks to all the members that I have met and welcomed me to Norfolk Country Club and the community. I

will probably not remember all the names but hopefully I will try to remember faces of members I have met.

I look forward to meeting and getting aquatinted with you and the rest of the membership as time goes by.

As most of you know my wife Cassie is still in Indiana with prior obligations and I am hoping she will arrive

soon in Norfolk. Being new to the area, we are looking for suitable housing in the Norfolk area. Please let

me know if you or maybe your friends may have information for a home on the market for lease. My wife

and I would appreciate any help in this search.

As I begin this journey as your General Manager, I look to you for any ideas and suggestions to improve our

club. In today’s economy, the key to any club’s survival, are new members and participation of the present

members. You have a great club and should be proud of what you have accomplished. The present Member

Partnership Program would be a good way to get some of your friends, etc. to join Norfolk. Let them know

why you are a member at Norfolk CC. and why they should consider a membership. Bring them out for

lunch, dinner, a round of golf or for a relaxing day at the pool. Remember you don’t have to golf or even

know your Partnership member to participate in this program. As members you are the “BEST” sales

people.

Think Norfolk first, see you at the club…..

John Peterson, General Manager

Read the Newsletter Carefully!!

Look for your member number in print somewhere in each

newsletter. If you find your number call, write or stop in

the office and tell us “I read my member number in the

newsletter.” You will receive a gift certificate for dinner

and a drink. We have hidden two numbers.

Ladies Lockers There were numerous

things found in unrented lockers in the

Ladies Locker room. All of these items

are now on display in the Ladies Locker

room and need to be claimed by

Wednesday, June 6th.

I am organizing a young adult committee, ages

between 10 – 18 years of ages. I will be asking

for your ideas and input on events, activities,

menus, socials etc. for the young adult

members. Norfolk Country Club needs your

participation. Please contact John Peterson,

General Manager at the club if you would like to

be part of the committee. Standard Beer Cart Hours Weather Permitting
