Earn Continuing Education Credits (CECs)

BICSI requires CECs to document professional development activities during any certifi cation renewal period. A CEC is the number of hours of creditable professional development education or training. One hour is assigned for each produc-tive classroom hour of formal training that pertains to the de-sign or installation of structured telecommunications cabling systems. The average is 7 credit hours per full day of training.

The following CECs are required for the respective BICSI designations*:• 45 for RCDD or RCDD/NTS (LAN) Specialist• 30 for RCDD/WD Specialist• 24 for RCDD/OSP Specialist• 15 for ITS Installer or ITS Technician

FiberOptic.com courses approved for BICSI CECs:

• FOT-FOF Fiber Optic Fundamentals = 12 CECs (toward BICSI RCDD, ITS and OSP designations only)

• FOT-CFI Fiber Optic Installer = 24 CECs (toward BICSI RCDD, ITS and OSP designations only)

Other Fiberoptic.com courses are pending approval. Please call for the latest listings. The ETA certifi cation accepts BICSI CECs for ETA Certifi cation renewals.
