Weight reduction. Around 50% approximately.

Simple installation. It is not necessary to cut, weld the pieces together or to use lifting equipment. Fast installation.

Prefabricated system, manufactured with strict quality controls according to an integrated structure in the manufacturing control system.

“Finished” system, it is not necessary to lag the ducts or coat them with exterior enclosures.

No transmission of expansion to the structure of the vessel (without the need for compensators or expan-sion joints interwoven into the ducts).

Ducts are made out of stainless steel, have long durability and the system is guaranteed.

Excellent aesthetic nish.

Calculation and design of the facilities is available from DINAKs technical department .

Flexible system, allows for design modications during installation in addition to repairs in the event of accidents.

ADVANTAGES OVER TRADITIONAL EXHAUST SYSTEMS

The DINAK GE NAVAL range is made up of modular ducts with double rockwool insulation and has a complete anchoring system and accessories specially designed for shipping facilities.

Given the high performance reached by the DINAK GE NAVAL range, its excellent aesthetic nish and the ease of installation, this is the best option in all types of medium or high temperature gas conduction (up to 600ºC) that are subject, or not, to high process pressures (up to 5000 Pa).

5 FEATURES OF THE DINAK GE+ SYSTEM

FEATURES

MATERIALS & APPLICATIONS

Individual expansion absorption at joints

Gas tightnessGas tightness class H1 (up to 5000 Pa) at the connection point between elements by means of a silicone joint on the outer wall. The locking band press the joint securing the tightness and at the same time covering it and protecting it from external agents.Outer Wall: Butt welded in every piece of the chimney.

Temperature class T600 (up to 600ºC)The GE30+ range is heat-insulated using rockwool with a thickness of 30mm and a density of 130kg/m³ whereas the GE50+ insulation has a thickness of 50mm and a density of 100kg/m³.Both ranges are CE-certied for the evacuation of exhaust gases produced by power generators and re pumps. Their walls are not guided by any thermal bridge elements. The most suitable range for a specic installation will be determined depending on the maximum temperature required on the outer wall, the type of installation and the prevailing regulations.

Stable and resistantThe overlap between elements is 40mm, which confers stability and robustness to the system, especially to horizontal sections and during its installation. The locking bands t directly to the outer wall, giving rigidness to the ensemble and making the silicone joint redundant to ensure the mechanical stability of the chimney.

Reliable and easy to installIt is not required to apply lubricant nor apply high pressure to the elements to carry out the installation. The installation of the outer seal is simple and, thanks to its position in the chimney, it is possible to verify visually that it has been correctly installed. Therefore, it is a completely reliable system. It can be totally dismantled.

The inner and outer walls work together on the male end of straight sections, while on the female end the inner Wall expansions freely with the eects of temperature.

The outer wall of the straight elements (202) includes a bellow on the male end, which ensures correct absorption of the expansions in the outer wall. This way, it is not required to install before each oset extra elements to absorb the expansions.

Diameters and weight table

GE50The GE50 range has been tested and installed for years in all types of industrial and marine installations. The GE30+ and GE 50+

ranges are supplemented to service applications that need diameters larger than 600 mm.

The selection criteria in this line and range of service, regarding

pressure and maximum temperature, are shared with the GE+

range, meaning up to 5000 Pa of excess pressure and 600ºC in

continuous operation.

Available diameters and weight table

GE100For those cases where the exterior temperature limitation of the ducts is extreme, DINAK oers clients the GE100 range with the

same essential characteristics as the rest of the GE range but with a greater thickness of insulation.

Individual expansion absorption at joints

The inner and outer walls work together on the male end of straight sections, while on the female end the inner wall expansions freely with the eects of temperature.

13 DESIGN CRITERIA

Material and range selection guide

The DINAK GE Naval range is available in dierent diameters and insulation congurations and adapts to the requirements demanded for each application. For example, a duct may be limited so that the process it services does not exceed a certain speed (limitation of maximum pressure or noise generated, for example) or a certain temperature of the exterior wall.

In addition, the range provides dierent combina-tions of materials for the gas ducts and the exterior wall in order to reach an optimal solution in each project and application.

14INSTALLATION CRITERIA

Supports

Selection criteria for anchorages

Installation and position of the anchorages.

The recommended installation is shown in the following charts as a general guide.

In straight sectionsIn straight sections, anchorages must be placed at least every 2 m.

For deviations As general criteria for deviations in the layout, a maximum distance between anchorages must be at 2 m measured on the axis of the duct and it will be taken into account that at least one anchorage is to be installed as close as possible to one end of the deviation.

For diameters larger than 600 mm For diameters larger than 600 mm and the GE100 range, consult with DINAK for the best possible conguration of anchorages.

In order to avoid vibrations in the general structure of the ship, isolating the ducts is recommended. The DINAK GE Naval range has anti-vibration kits that are specially desig-ned for this purpose, also allowing the avoidance of galvanic corrosion by contact of metals with dierent electrical potential.DINAK recommends installing the kit to each anchorage of the system.

Installation of the anti-vibration kit:·The kit consists of a carbon steel plate (1) + rubber seals that insulate the duct of the structure.·This kit is screwed on (according to the attached sketch) to the 80N/86N attachment and is welded to the carbon steel plate primed on the ship’s structure.

Horizontal Stages

For easy installation, the use of 86N anchorages are recommended and the installation of intermediate 80N anchorages is also valid.

Vertical Stages

Intermediate 80N ancho-rages must always be used, with the exception of nishing touches that may have special conside-rations (See page 15).

15 INSTALLATION CRITERIA

This connection is generally achieved with a 90º elbow pipe + drain, code 43N or with a 45º elbow pipe with drain (code 40N) and another 45º elbow pipe (code 040). This prevents the possible entry of water to the equipment.

Connection elements between horizontal and vertical

The straight element 202 with dilator is used for applications with high gas temperatures (greater than 300ºC) in the case of main motors, generators, motor pumps, incinerators, etc.

The 020 is used for applications with gas temperatures below 300ºC, such as boiler applications, steam generators, etc.

Straight Elements : 020 or 202

This connection is generally achieved with a 90º elbow pipe + drain, code 43N or with a 45º elbow pipe with drain (code 40N) and another 45º elbow pipe (code 040). This prevents the possible entry of water to the equipment.

High resistance to corrosion ▶ Use of AISI-316L

Avoid contact of external water with the main engines and equipment:

Design prevents water from entering the insulation and minimises the entry of water into the ducts; dierent terminals with multiple combinations of exit angles.

Special straight element module with perimetral collection and drain (code 55N)

Specic design to seal the cover.

Water cover with a lower band to overlap with the exit neck of the cover.

Terminal Support: According to the standard design of this gure, it is not necessary to add an additional exterior support or additional anti-vibration systems.

In the case of increasing the free height or the cantilever, DINAK has all the stainless steel AISI-316L pieces described in this catalog to obtain the necessary design.

Alternatively other elements can be designed with specic geometries, materials and specic thicknesses.

16INSTALLATION CRITERIA

One of the advantages of the DINAK system is that, along the entire length of the ducts, these do not transmit expansion at the anchorage points to the structural elements of the ship or to other equipment.

However, certain equipment such as silencers, spark arresters, catalysts, motors, scrubbers, etc., can experience large expan-sions towards the DINAK ducts, which, if left unchecked and uncompensated, would cause large overloading of the ducts.

In these cases, it is necessary to compensate for these dilations, also avoiding the transmission of vibrations, and DINAK can optionally supply compensation systems and specic anti-vibration supports.

Connection between the outlet of the motors and the DINAK duct

The xed point shall always be made after the dilator/anti-vi-brator (A) of the engine exhaust outlet and on the side of the modular DINAK duct (B).

Objective

Eliminate the transmission of vibrations and expansions

DINAK solution

Installation of supporting arms (C)* bolted to the angePlace xed anti-vibration points (D)* to these arms xed to the structure of the ship directly or with an auxiliary substructure.

Connection with silencers / other equipment with axial dilators

The xed point or points are made in the case that the expansion of the equipment (d) at any of the connection points is greater than 3mm (d>3mm)

Objective

Eliminate the transmission of expansion and overloads.

DINAK solution

Install supporting arms (A) bolted to the coupling ange.Place xed anti-vibration points (B)* to these arms xed to the structure of the ship directly or with an auxiliary substructure.

In the example shown, the silencer expands less than 3mm on the right side, and a larger amount on the left side.

(1) It is assumed that the weight of the silencer/equipment is supported by the overall structure of the ship, for example, with the help of anti-vibrators on the supports (C) and the stabilisers (D).

17 ACCESSORIES

As previously explained in this catalogue, the double wall DINAK ducts do not transmit signicant expansions to the rest of the equipment, installations or the ship’s structure.

However, in a conventional manner, it is customary to introduce equipment into exhaust systems that generate large expan-sions and vibrations. If not foreseen, they cause large deformations and/or overloads to other equipment and to the ship’s structure itself, in addition to causing noise problems.

Terminals and custom elements

As an option, Dinak oers clients standard or customised acoustic attenuation systems according to the actual needs of the installation.

Examples of attenuation systems

Relaxation-absorption silencers:Design especially suitable for medium to high power Motors / generators.Possibility of incorporating an anti-spark system.Possibility of incorporating a drain.

DINAK SilenkModular attenuation systems fully compatible with DINAK GE Naval range. ▶Easy installation, absence of xed points and perfect aesthetic integration.Excellent absorption capacity at medium and high frequencies.Especially suitable for boilers and incinerators.

In addition to standardised terminals (see page 15), DINAK can supply dierent terminal options, whether for the technical requirements (for example: materials, special geometry…) or aesthetic requirements.

For other special items, please consult with DINAK.

Acoustic attenuation systems

Fixed point support

Support element which allows the anti-vibration xed point to be attached with bolts.

Compensators or Expansion joints

These are introduced to the system should it be necessary to absorb important expansions generated by certain equipment (for example, main silencers of engines).

Stabilisers

These control movements in a single direction and avoid the transmission of vibrations by equipment that generates them.

Fixed anti-vibration point

These support the static and dynamic loads transmitted by equipment that experiences expansion and vibration toward the ducts while it is operational.
