Strengthening the ties that connect Lumberjacks near and far Alumni Engagement With a network of more than 165,000 alumni, we engage a large population of our Lumberjacks online. Our social presence is a digital reflection of the alumni experience, connection to NAU and what we all share—the Lumberjack experience. Through the strategic use of social media, we grow and reinforce the alumni connection back to their alma mater. Alumni Communications Internship Alumni Communications is responsible for creating awareness and affinity on behalf of NAU and the Alumni Association through the use of storytelling on the web and social media. Our team of interns play an important role to showcase NAU, feature alumni successes, articulate what it means to be a Lumberjack alumni, and the impact alumni have on students today. Hours per week: The communications intern will work 10 hours per week during the semester and may receive up to three credit hours. The intern must work with their departmental internship coordinator to complete requirements of their major and course plan. This position involves independent field work as well as in-office work. Sporadic evening/weekend work is required, however advance notice will be given. Available positions Content creator

Responsibilities Support Alumni Communications staff to accomplish daily tasks and strategic priorities. Develop a variety of content for NAU alumni web pages, emails, and social media

accounts (Content may include posts, pictures, video, graphics, blogs, social ads, etc.). Pitch new and creative ideas.

Contribute to daily organic social coverage as well as events, promotions, and campaigns.

Capture meaningful moments during events and activities for live social media coverage. Support alumni chapter communication leaders with social content and event coverage. Be an ambassador for Development and Alumni Engagement team. Organize and maintain the alumni photo, video and content database systems. Perform other duties as assigned.

Desired skills: All applicants must be creative, self-starters who are passionate about NAU. If you can work autonomously, write concise copy, handle several projects at once and know what gets shared, double-tapped and retweeted, apply to join our NAU Alumni Communications team.

Qualifications: Applicants must be in good standing and have completed two semesters at NAU. Prior experience with social media engagement, photography and/or videography on behalf of an organization or brand is preferred. Open to all majors. Preferred areas of study: Communication Studies, Creative Media and Film, Journalism, Marketing, Strategic Communication, Visual Communication, or Photography.
