Last natural disaster - Hurricane Ervinas Date: 9th January, 2005 Damages:134 people were either death or went missing; Thousands of trees were destroyed;

The last Natural disaster which occurred in Lithuania was Hurricane Ervinas in 9th, January 2005. The hurricane Ervinas beyond have affected Lithuania, also had affected Norway, Denmark and Netherlands. 134 people were either dead or went missing. During the hurricane, the water levels raised 1 meter and 54 centimeters and strong winds devastated thousands of trees all over the country.

Last Natural Disaster: Floods in Malaga, Almeria and Murcia Date:29th September, 2012 Damages:10 deaths; Destruction of buildings; Hundreds of people had to leave their properties;

The last natural disaster which occurred in Spain were floods in 29th September, 2012. The hardest hit areas were Almeria, Malaga and Murcia. The strength of the floods overturned cars, closed roads and damaged many properties. 10 people have died and at least 600 people had to be evacuated from their homes.

Worst natural disaster: Avezzano earthquake or L'Aquila earthquake in Avezzano Date: 13rd January, 1915 Damages: 30 000 deaths, devastation of the city of Avezzano; Destruction of infra-structures;

The worst natural disaster which occurred in Italy was the Avezzano earthquake, in 13rd January, 1915. The catastrophe took place in central Italy, near the town of L'Aquila, in Avezzano. The quake had an effect equal or higher than grade VII on the Mercalli scale. It have several consequences such as wiped out the city of Avezzano, took the lives of at least 30.000 people, destroyed several buildings and many people became homeless.

Last natural disaster: Floods and mudslides in Madeira Date: 20th February,2010 Damages: 47 deaths; Many people were injured; Several material damages;

One of the last natural disasters which occurred in Portugal were floods in Madeira, 20 February, 2010. The catastrophe took place all over the island, having a higher effect in Funchal. It was initiated by heavy rainfall with winds above 60 milles per hour, followed by a rise in sea level. These events have caused not only flooding but also mudslides. There were about 47 deaths, 600 injured, many people were displaced, many buildings were completely inundated and cars, houses and trees were swept away.

Last natural disaster: Floods in southern Poland Date: 20th May, 2010 Damages: 25 deaths; Approximately 23,000 people were evacuated; Economic cost was 2.5 billion euros;

The last natural disaster which occurred in Poland was floods, in 20th May, 2010. These floods had affected southern Poland, more specifically Plock and Opole. Besides affecting Poland these floods also hit Austria, Germany, Ukraine among others. It had caused the death of 25 people, 23.000 had to be evacuated from their houses and caused several damages evaluated in 2.5 billion euros.

Worst natural disaster: Floods in Prague Date: August, 2002 Damages: 17 deaths; Thousands of people had to be evacuated from their homes; Damages of over 73 million CZ crowns (1.8 million euros);

The worst natural disaster which hit Czech Republic was floods, in August 2002. The area more affected was Prague and also affected other countries as Russia, Italy and Germany. There were about 17 deaths, thousands of people had to be evacuated from their homes, the level of Vlatva river had raised and there were many damages evaluated in 1.8 million euros.

Last natural disaster: Van Earthquake in Van Date: 23rd October, 2011 Damages: 604 deaths; 4,152 people injured; Many destroyed buildings ; 60.000 people were left homeless;

The last natural disaster which occurred in Turkey was the Van earthquake, in 23rd October, 2011. The Van earthquake had a destructive magnitude 7.1 that struck eastern Turkey near the city of Van. It killed 604 people, injured around 4,152, at least 60,000 people were left homeless and many buildings were destroyed.

Floods: No building too close to the sea; Prevention of soil erosion ; Reforestation; Construction of dams to regulate river flows; Earthquake: Be aware of the risks associated to earthquakes; Teach how to react during this catastrophe; Store water, food, handy flashlight, radio, first aid kit; Turn off the gas and the power source; Hurricanes: Always have a car available; Store food and water supplies and be aware of the weather forecast(radio);
