Report on NSS Camp at Lohegaon
The students of Dr. D.Y Patil School of Engineering participated in the N.S.S camp in the
village Lohegaon from 25th to 31st Dec 2016. The number of student – volunteers
participated in the camp was 25, along with 10 Students as NSS Volunteers, 6 faculty
members and 2 technical assistants of our college. The camp created awareness on issues
like- Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, Importance of education, Tree Plantation, save girl child
and educate girl child and save water through street plays at various schools, Bus stop,
Mandir and different places of Lohegaon.
INAUGRATION DAY-1: DATE: 25TH DEC 2016
The day kick started with a lot of enthusiasm and a spirit of team work rose in everyone’s
heart. NSS students performed skit at college we started from the college campus around
10am and reached Lohegaon bus stop at 10:20am which was the starting point of the camp.
The inauguration took place in the presence of senior panchayat members of the village.

DAY 2: DATE: 26th Dec 2016
All the students then took out a rally in the Lohegaon village to create awareness amongst
people on several issues. A skit on Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan was also performed in order
to maintain a healthy lifestyle and mental well-being. The NSS team comprising of students
and faculty members cleaned village roads of Lohegaon. The day ended by census count
of the village.

DAY 3: Date: 27th Dec 2016
India is a vast country, despite getting independence some 50 years ago, our country
remains backward in many key fields. The main reason for this is most of the population
of India is illiterate. The NSS team on Day 3 imparted knowledge to the village people

about why education is necessary, its advantages. A street play was also performed in
various school. In the afternoon, Prof Kundan Saraf briefed people about cashless medium
of transaction as the whole country is facing demonetization woes. Further Prof. Popat
Borse faculty from computer dept. trained the Gram Panchayat People how to prepare .ppt,
how to use email services and other MS office tools. The day ended by census count of
the village.

DAY 4: Date: 28th Dec 2016
Day 4 at Lohegaon village started with a great josh and courage in the very blood and bones
of volunteers, today a massive task to plant 100 trees in Lohegaon was accomplished at
viz,. ZP school, new garden, Sant Tukaram temple and different places. Also school
students were taught the importance of trees by a street play and the day ended by forming
several groups for census.

DAY 5: Date: 29 Dec 2016
“India will be a dream-land that houses every facility on earth. That must include
education for each and every girl”, on Day 5 our campaign was to make a positive impact
on the people of the village about “Save girl child and educate them” and the day ended
by forming several groups for census.
DAY 6: Date: 30th Dec 2016
Water is our most precious natural resource, the overuse of this resource will cause us and
our posterity serious problems in the near and far future. So Day 6, included to leave a long
lasting impression on people’s mind to conserve water by enacting a street play “Save
water” performed by the NSS students team. The day ended by census count of the village.

LAST DAY-7 OF THE CAMP: Date 31st Dec 2016
Function on the last day was presided by Dr. S.S Sonavne, Director Dr. DY Patil Technical
Campus, senior members of panchayat, faculty members of DYPSOE and residence of
Lohegaon villagers were present. Members of the village thanked the entire NSS team for
creating awareness on various issues and urged to hold NSS camp every year in the village.
The entire NSS team had achieved the goal to offer services to the community, while the
motto of NSS “NOT ME BUT YOU” had left a long lasting impression on the people’s
mind that charity begins at home and it is we who need to change our perspective
irrespective of what others say or do.
