The Director General hoisted the flag and addressed the assemblage. She has spoken about the importance of the occasion, activities of ni-msme during lockdown and gave a call for hard work to achieve the targets.

She also said that we are celebrating the freedom today on this momentous occasion of the 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. It is the celebration of the spirit of freedom struggle and the reflection of the feeling of sacrifice. All those present took part in the agenda in a cultural spirit.

Amrit Mahotsav App for Innovation Challenge-2021Govt. of India has launched Amrit Mahotsav App Innovation Challenge-2021for

Indian entrepreneurs and start-ups. Robustness, Security Features, Scalability & Interoperability, etc., are the key evaluation parameters. This is in line with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of building a new, Aatma Nirbhar Bharat by the year 2022 and to celebrate the 75th year of Independence of India, as the Azadika Amrit Mahotsav. This Innovation challenge launched is in continuation of the Aatma Nirbhar App Innovation Challenge orgainsed in 2020 that helped to identify 24

Winning Apps and 20 Promising Apps.

Some of the Aatmanirbhar App Innovation Challenge 2020 winners include Mr. Bharath Bevinahally Raghunath and Ms. Sneha Kalyan Sundaram, the developers of Kutuki Kid

Learning App; Ms. Keerti Singh, the developer of Hit Wicket Superstars; Mr. Shivjeet Ghatge, the developer of Step Set Go; Mr. SumitGhosh and Mr. Aditya Kothari, developers of Chingari; Mr. Aprameya Radhakrishna, developer of Koo App; and Mr. RohanVerma, developer of Map my India App.

Amrit Mahotsav App for Innovation Challenge 2021 is a well thought plan by Govt. of India considering the role of startups in building innovative solutions for today and future and disrupting the traditional way of doing business and delivering services. It is expected that startups, budding entrepreneurs and youngsters will find it attractive, will participate in large number in this challenge, and India will have several solutions for the problems encountered due to COVID.

It is estimated that around 500 million people are using smartphones in India, and three quarters of them are online. Indians are also amongst the top downloaders of apps in the world. This massive market holds a plethora of opportunities for Indian innovators and tech gurus.Over the past few years, many new apps have entered and started dominating the market in various fields beit social media, messaging, marketing, transport, and food etc. Amrit Mahotsav App Innovation Challenge also has a category of Culture and Heritage that will help identify Apps that can showcase the rich cultural heritage and traditions of India. The identified categories will give an opportunity to innovators and tech entrepreneurs to build solutions that will be as per the vision laid out by Prime Minister regarding the role of Hackathons, Innovation Challenges and Startups in contributing to building the New India.

This Innovation Challenge with various cash awards and incentives of featuring Apps on Leader Boards seeks to create an ecosystem where Indian entrepreneurs and Start-ups are incentivised to ideate, incubate, build, nurture and sustain Tech solutions that can serve not only citizens within India but also the world.

The Amrit Mahotsav App Innovation Challenge 2021 has been launched in 16 categories including Culture & Heritage, Health, Education, Social Media, Emerge Tech, Skills,News, Games, Entertainment, Office, Fitness & Nutrition, Agriculture, Business & Retail, Fintech, Navigation and others. There may be several sub categories within each category.

The details of Innovation Challenge are available on https://innovateindia.mygov.in/ and the last date of submission of entries is 30thSeptember, 2021. Applicants need to apply online to submit their proposals by registering and logging on to the MyGov portal - www.mygov.in.A specific Jury for each track with experts from Private Sector & Academia will evaluate the entries received. Shortlisted Apps will be given awards & will also feature on Leader boards for information of citizens. Government will also adopt suitable Apps, guide them to maturity and list on Government e-Marketplace (GeM).

Some of the Key Evaluation parameters will include Easy User Interface, Robustness, Security features, Scalability & Interoperability, and Vision of App for next 5 years as the participants may pitch in their ideas for making the app successful by incorporating apps with emerging technologies/latest trends. Participants are suggested to watch a video on Amrit Mahotsav App Innovation Challenge 2021 for better understanding.

Students and Scholars from Higher Education Institutions, Science & Technology Institutions, Management Institutions and all the Universities across the country are encouraged to take active part in this innovative competition. Entrepreneurs and Startups should also participate invariably to bring out the solutions to resolve the challenges.

Export Documentation Procedures and International Trade Operations

National Small Industry Day

ni-msme had organised an online training programme on Export Logistics and International Trade Operations from 16th to 20th August 2021. A total of 5 members have attended the programme from various parts of the country.

Dr. K. Visweswara Reddy, Faculty Member and Programme Director while formally inaugurating the training, welcomed the participants, briefed about genesis of

National Institute for MSME and gave an overview of theprogramme scheduled.

The broad areas that covered in the training include the procedure for starting export business, International Commercial and Payment Terms, Pre & Post Shipment Procedure and Documentation, Government Benefits, EXIM Finance, Insurance & Risk Management, International and Local Bodies, Types of Transportation, Containers and

Packing, International Product and Market Selection.

The Programme concluded with the valedictory function chaired by Programme Director. The feedback of the participants was taken and they were advised to start their export business at the earliest.

The National Institute MSME has observed National Small

Industry day held on 30th August 2021. 30 prospective and practicing entrepreneurs from 5 states have attended the program. The Director General Inaugurated the program. She said National Small Industry Day is celebrated on August 30th every year in India to commemorate the contribution of small-scale industry to the country’s growth. The day is marked to promote and support enterprises in the small scale industry for growth and setting up new businesses to generate employment opportunities. Mr. G.Sudarshan Faculty Member has briefed activities of National Institute for MSME.

Mr. V.B.R. Prasad Associate Faculty Member taken a session on Key Initiatives and Reforms of Ministry of MSME. He explained the functions of themain institutes of Ministry of MSME like are DC-MSME, KVIC, Coir Board, ni-msme, NSIC,

NSSH and MGIRI. He covered the topics on debt for stressed MSMEs, equity infusion for MSMEs,Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Component (CLCS & TU Scheme),Procurement and Marketing Support (PMS) scheme and International Cooperation (IC) Scheme. The program concluded with vote of thanks by Program Director Mr. Gaddam Sudarshan.

Webinar on Entrepreneurship

The School of Entrepreneurship and Extension has conducted a Webinar on Entrepreneurship on 27th

August 2021. 7 Participants from 3 states have attended the program, Mr. G. Sudarshan, Program Director has

taken sessions on Essentials of Starting Business. Financial Schemes like MUDRA, CGTMSE and PMEGP. How to identify Viable Business Opportunity and process of Udyam Registration.

Mr. V. B. Prasad, Associate Faculty Member has made a presentation on Preparation of Detailed Project Report and Market Survey. Mr. Muthyala Sarath, Associate Faculty Member has delivered a

session on Digital Marketing. The participants expressed their satisfaction about the various sessions.

Certificate Program on Entrepreneurship

The School of Entrepreneurship and Extension has conducted

a certificate program on Entrepreneurship for Graduates and Post Graduates of St. Joseph’s Degree & PG College. The programme started on July 26th and ended on August 6th 2021. A Total of 35 students attended the program. The topics covered include Entrepreneurship, Types of Entrepreneurship, What is a Startup and How to Register a Startup, Innovation, How to Generate Business Idea, Finance & MSME Schemes and Preparation of Bankable project report. On completion of the program participants have submitted project report. In the feedback, participants have said that they are confident to start an enterprise. St. Joseph’s Degree & PG College Management and Participants thanked Director General, ni-msme for conducting such a good program. The Program concluded with vote of thanks by Mr. Gaddam Sudarshan, Programme Director.

Webinar on Entrepreneurship Development in Fisheries & Aquaculture

ni-msme in association with National Fisheries Development Board conducted a webinar on Entrepreneurship Development in Fisheries & Aquaculture on 26th August 2021. The webinar was conducted as per the guidelines of Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY). A total of 51 participants which included Fishing Communities, Entrepreneurs, Fish Retailers, NGOs and Farmers attended the programme. The participants hailed from various states. Dr. Shreekant Sharma, FM, SEE coordinated the programme.

The programme offered inputs related to Marketing of Fish (Modern, Retail and Online), Value addition in Fisheries, it’s value added products, Institutional Support and Government Schemes in Fisheries & Aquaculture. During the programme, participants were delighted by the presenters’ prominent points and seen very interactive throughout the day.

Dr. Abhinika Jain Rane, an entrepreneur in the field of Ornamental Fishery, handled a technical session on value addition of the fish. She discussed about various opportunities in home Aquarium model too.

One of the main attraction of the webinar was the presentation taken by Mr. Armaan U. Muzaddadi, Principal Scientist, Transfer of Technology Division, ICAR-Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology

(CIPHET). He shared the details about an innovative vehicle developed by them that can act as live fish career from water bodies to the place of commercial operations. He answered the queries raised by various participants. Mr. Vivek Kumar, taken a session on Retail marketing along with importance of packaging & labeling.

Dr. K. Visweswara Reddy, FM, SEM took a session on Market Survey and Project Report preparation in Fisheries. Dr. Shreekant Sharma gave valuable inputs on need of Innovation and Business Development activities related to Fisheries. His session also focused on institutional support and schemes related to development of fish enterprise.

As per the need of the hour and in response to the guidelines of the ministry, a specialized session on alternatives available to Single Used plastics was taken by Mr. J. Koteswara Rao, AFM, School of Enterprise Development.

Participants rated the programme sky-high and requested ni-msme to conduct such programmes at regular intervals. It is right to mention here that two more webinars will be conducted in the series on Capacity Building of resources related to Fisheries & Aquaculture under PMMSY.

HAUSLA Programme for JKPTO to Scale-up Existing Women Entrepreneurs at J&K State

N ational Institute for MSME has organized “HAUSLA”, an initiative for promoting Women Entrepreneurship in

the UT of J & K. The “Hausla” programme is in association with Jammu Kashmir Trade Promotion Organisation (JKTPO) & India SME Forum as the Mentoring & Implementation Partner.The main objective of the programme is to train and scale up 125 existing Women Entrepreneurs, where ni-msme is the knowledge partner. This initiative was successfully launched by Shri Manoj Sinha, Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Jammu & Kashmir in presence of Shri Baseer Ahmad Khan, Advisor to Hon’ble Lt. Governor, J & K, Shri Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary, Shri Ranjan Prakash Thakur, Principal Secretary Industries & Commerce, and Shri Nitishwar Kumar, Principal Secretary to Hon’ble Lt. Governor, J & K on 29.06.2021 at 10:00 am at SKICC Srinagar.

The launch was well received & widely promoted throughout the UT. ni-msme started the programme with 125 Trainees for Batch I on 18th August 2021.

The Program Objectives of Hausla initiative is as follows -

Identifying Women Entrepreneurs (WE) of J&K and empowering them as role models by providing them with continuous support, as well as building an ecosystem to inspire other local women entrepreneurs.

Creating a channel for educated women to explore their potential and subsequently channelize their business acumen.

Providing the knowledge about promotion policies of Government to women entrepreneurs, as well as access to Credit and Financial Services.

Training WE to overcome challenges related to financial, legal and societal biases by focusing on their innate potential.

Enabling access to enterprise education and training with focus on business development and business information.

Enabling access to women enterprise networks, associations, business premises and market linkages.

The initiative is being conducted in 3 steps:

Orientation & Empowerment Webinars are being conducted by ISF for all the trainees to explain and prepare them for leveraging benefits / advantages of the initiative and how will it help them for their business as well as for all registered participants to gain knowledge of available avenues, stories of success and best practices.

Training & Mentoring - Training for select Women Entrepreneurs will be conducted online for 9weeks followed by mentoring of 6 weeks by NIMSME and ACEEDE (training arm of ISF) respectively and jointly certified thereafter.

Support & Facilitation - Support will be offered to those women who successfully complete the training to enable them to digitally transform their company through their digital enablement and facilitate them for access to finance to enable them to scaleup their operations, through associate partners like Flipkart and Jammu Kashmir Bank respectively.

Online Training Programme on Effective Usage of Digital Platforms

ni-msme organized eight days hands on training programme on Effective Usage of Digital Platforms for Increasing Sales on 30th Aug 2020. The main objective of the programme is to make Micro and small entrepreneurs, to increase their sales in this present market situations by efficient usage of digital platforms. This training focused on the concept of developing social networks by MSMEs and proper application of digital knowledge as a tool for

their future business development. In this training the topics covered include digital marketing, advantages of digital marketing platforms, marketing & sales funnel, creation of brand image through logos and images on canva, how to make google listings, advertise through google, YouTube, creating Facebook pages, business promotion planning, creating Instagram account, how to setup payment gateway to collect payments through various modes and how to get licenses and certifications required to list your products online. Mr. V. B. Rajendra Prasad, AFM is the Programme Director and Mr. Sharath, AFM is Co-Programme Director.

Workshop on Rurban Clusters

Approval for the Cluster

A Workshop on ‘Diagnostic Study of Rurban Clusters’ was held at NIRD & PR campus, Hyderabad on 23rd August 2021. ni-msme

team had given a presentation on the methodology of diagnostic study of establishing Rurban Clusters. During the meeting valuable contributions were made by Dr. Biswajit Banerjee, JS Rurban Mission, Dr. G. Narendrakumar IAS, DG NIRD & PR, Ms. Radhika Rustogi, DDG, NIRD & PR, Ms. S. Glory Swarupa, Director General, ni-msme.

Rurban Mission officials from New Delhi, State Rurban Mission teams from Telangana, Mizoram, Bihar and Maharashtra were also present. The workshop was highly fruitful in understanding the initiatives to be taken by ni-msme as a part of Diagnostic Study for Rurban Clusters under Rurban Mission.

Pulivendula Banana Processing Cluster has been sanctioned under 40th SSC Meeting of SFURTI under the chairmanship of Secretary, MSME and in respect of decisions and authorized with final approval in 39th SSC held. The Pulivendula Banana Processing Cluster ,Y.S.R Kadapa District, Andhra Pradesh hasbeen approved with a total project cost 393.26 Lakhs. ni-msme is the Nodal Agency for this cluster, were in the 823 Farmers form into SPV. The implementing Agency is Andhra Pradesh Food Processing society, Andhra Pradesh. This Cluster willcome out with new value added products like banana floor, banana dried slices, bananacandles, banana stem juice and stems sheath cups. Indian Institute of Packaging will be involved for the soft interventions of the cluster and rural women will benefit to make banana value added products and get good income with this SFURTI scheme.

Webinar on Baking Technology for the Future with DCAC

ni-msme and Danish Consortium for Academic Craftsmanship (DCAC) a Danish consortium consisting of four publicly funded skills development institutions have entered into a partnership to offer and hold courses in a number of areas including bakery and confectionery. In this regard a webinar on Baking Technology of the future was organized on 25th August 2021 throughonline. The webinar was attended by 10 existing entrepreneurs and prospective bakery entrepreneurs.

During the inauguration, welcome address was delivered by Dr. K. Visweswara Reddy, FM, SEM. Ms. S. Glory Swarupa, Director General, ni-msme was the Chief Guest, she congratulated DCAC for organizing this webinar and advised to conduct offline programmes once the COVID

is over. Ms. Lene, DCAC was the Guest of Honour, she thanked ni-msme for taking forward the partnership with DCAC. Dr. Shreekant Sharma, programme director introduced the topic and speakers to the participants. Mr. Ivan Kousholt and Mr. Kasper Hansen, Zealand Business College, DCAC, experts in bakery explained and demonstrated about various innovative products and processes in bakery industry. They also answered the questions asked by entrepreneurs. The main attraction was a virtual display of wide varieties of breads, biscuits, cakes, pastries, croissants and other laminated breads. Dr. Shreekant Sharma delivered the vote of thanks and the participants expressed their gratitude to ni-msme and DCAC for conducting the webinar.

Blockchain for Clusters

ni-msme and dFarm Inc., Michigan USA organised an online meeting on Blockchain applications for cluster development on 11th Aug 2021. In this meeting 15 food processing clusters from 5 states participated. Ms. S. Glory Swarupa, Director General, ni-msme, Mr. KSP Goud, FM, SED, Dr. Shreekant Sharma, FM, SEE and NRCD team participated. dFarm Inc. was represented by Mr. Bhaskar Vadlamudi, Director of Worldwide Marketing, Mr. Vijay Bhaskar Noti, Director of International Business Development and Mr. Yashaswi Sirige, Area Business Development Manager. After the presentation delivered by Mr. Bhaskar Vadlamudi the clusters representatives interacted to have better understanding of blockchain-based technology applications in existing cluster models, for providing top-notch traceability, efficient supply chain management & data monitoring. The meeting ended with vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Shreekant Sharma.

National Conference on Entrepreneurship Education & Innovation for Sustainable Development

ADB ProjectBYST National Advisory Group Meeting

ni-msme and Sharda University jointly organised an online National Conference on Entrepreneurship Education & Innovation for Sustainable Development on 26th & 27th August 2021. The conference brought together leading researchers, academicians, students, research scholars, and industry professionals to exchange and share their experiences and research results on various aspects of Entrepreneurship Education and Innovation.It also providedan interdisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners, and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns alongwith challenges encountered and solutions adopted in the fields of Entrepreneurship Education. The welcome address was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Arti Koul, Kachroo, Dean, School of

Education (SOE) Sharda University, Prof (Dr.) Sibaram Khara, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Sharda University was the Guest of Honour.Key note address was delivered by Prof. P. R. Ramanujan, Former Vice Chancellor IGNOU, New Delhi.

Ms. S. Glory Swarupa, Director General, in her inaugural speech extended her best wishes to the researchers and advised the organisers to come out with suggestions for improving entrepreneurship education in the country. Dr. Shreekant Sharma, FM, SEE the co-convener and session chair for theme - 1 “Academic, Social and Civic Entrepreneurship, Education and Training and Teacher

as Enabler in Entrepreneurship Education” gave valuable feedback to 8 Presenters. Dr. Dibyendu Choudhury, FM, SEM was the session chair for Technical Session - 3 which had the theme of “Online and Blended Approaches and Innovations in Assessment for Entrepreneurship Education” he gave his feedback to 7 presenters. Mr. K. S. P. Goud, FM, SED chaired the technical session- 4 having theme “Values and Ethics, Gender Perspectives, Policies and Case Studies in Entrepreneurship Education” in which there were 8 presenters. Best paper award was given for each theme. The programme concluded with vote of thanks proposed by the Dr. Sarita Verma, Asst. Prof, SOE, Sharda University.

An Online meeting was organised on 02nd August 2021 by Dr. Ishita Ganguli Tripathy, Additional Development Commissioner with ni-msme team. Ms. S. Glory Swarupa, Director General, ni-msme and faculty members have attended the meeting. In this meeting, team from the ADB funded project on “Strengthening Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Cluster Ecosystem through Institutional Network of Enterprise Development Centres” have made a presentation and took valuable inputs from ni-msme to be incorporated in the proposal.

On 30th Aug 2021 Dr. Shreekant Sharma, FM, SEE was invited for sharing his experiences as a Bharatiya Yuva Shakti Trust (BYST) accredited Mentor in BYST National Advisory Group Meeting. The meeting was presided by Ms. Lakshmi V. Venkatesan, Founding and Managing Trustee and Ms. Aruna Vinodh, Senior Director, Mr. Ashish Khairkar Director, and Ms. Priyanka Mohapatra, Executive Officer from BYST were also present. Here it is noteworthy that all faculty of ni-msme had undergone mentor development certification programme conducted by BYST and City and Guilds, London.

IPFC of ni-msme has facilitated the trademark registration of DO SCI - DO PLAY LEARN (Device Mark) for Educational Toy product of applicant M/S Bookmark Projects (Trustees: Ms. Aparna Vishwanatham and Akhil Vishwanatham), Hyderabad. The trademark was filed on 24th February 2021 and got registered on 2nd August 2021. Trademark helps the companies to protect its brands, logos and slogans from unauthorized users. Ms. V. Swapna Head IPFC ni-msme, congratulates the startup company and wishes all the best in their future endeavors.
