National Educational Technology Standards for
Students
Standard 1Creativity and Innovation
Promethean Boards are used to meet classroom learning targets.
Students are able to create products and manipulate information using Promethean Boards.
Standard 2Communication and Collaboration
Schools use technology to publish news letters to communicate with parents, students, and stakeholders.
The district has mobile apps that parents and students can use to view
attendance records, grades, assignments, etc.
Standard 3Research and Information Fluency
Schools have computer labs available for doing electronic research projects, producing digital media products, and for writing reports.
Teachers introduce strategies that guide inquiry and teach lessons on gathering and analyzing information.
Standard 4Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, and Decision Making
The science magnet school has a series of science labs that enable students to use critical thinking skills, plan projects, and research solutions to problems.

ISET – Standard 5Digital Citizenship
The district requires all users of digital media to agree to ethical and legal use before allowing access to these products.
Students are informed of these policies and practices
and are held accountable to meeting these obligations.
Standard 6Technology Operations and Concepts
The district has a science magnet school and a technology magnet school.
Students in these schools are introduced to new technologies and are taught how to use
these technologies.
