ABOUT SA GOLF INSTITUTE PGA DIPLOMA

Owned by internationally renowned coach Grant Hepburn who has trained coaches and worked with professionals

from around the world. His team offer a 3 year DIPLOMA IN PROFESSIONAL GOLF TRAINING, Accredited by the PGA

of SA. Our world class coaches and experts in sports psychology, golf fitness, life skills and golf business will

prepare you for a career in the professional ranks. Students receive specialised coaching every day together

with attending lectures on and off site. Once the student has completed the Diploma and the PGA Criteria then

he/she can apply for Full PGA Membership which is recognized in over 40 countries. This program is

specifically for people that would like to make golf a career.

FACILITY – The River Club Driving Range

The SA Golf Institute is situated at The River Club Driving Range it is the only driving range in Cape Town to offer two stories of sheltered bays, allowing year-round play in comfort. In total there are 90 practice bays, including grass and mat open range. There are two short game areas to practice putting, chipping,

pitching and bunker play together with a Par 3 Mashie Course.

PGA subjects will prepare and qualify you for a

career in the golf industry. The PGA of SA is affiliated

to the PGA’s of Europe and the PGA qualification is recognised in over 40

countries worldwide.

During the course of study amateurs retain their amateur status ensuring that they can compete on provincial and

national level before electing to turn professional. For those who don’t make it as a tour playing professional, the PGA

subjects prepare and qualify students for a career in the golf industry, which may include, club management, event co-ordination, coaching, retail, golf tourism, consulting and

tournament officiating. Once the student has completed the 3 year Diploma they then apply to become a member of the

PGA of SA who is affiliated to the PGA’s of Europe and the PGA qualification is internationally recognised. Playing

ability and Apprentice hours need to be completed before full membership is obtained.
