•Build synergy and advocate with other I/NGOs, UN agencies and governmental organizations for integrating the H2P issue in national disaster risk reduction plan

•Establish/strengthen linkages with partners working in the area of AI/PI

Key Achievements

•Draft pandemic preparedness plan is prepared and submitted to EDCD and AICP for comments and finalization.

•Developed district pandemic preparedness plan in three district ( Parsa, Chitwan & Rupendehi).

• Disseminated messages in local FM in the three districts

• Supported NHEICC to develop IEC materials and disseminated.

•Developed and translated training manuals ( health workers and volunteers)

Conducted Training of Trainers at central level to H2P project staff and DPHO’s focal persons from 10 District

Organized district TOT in four districts ( Kanchnapur, Kailali, Banke and Jhapa ) to 101 health workers

Organized two days training to 302 health workers in three

districts (Jhapa, Kanchanpur & Banke)

•Influenza Pandemic A(H1N1) 2009 prevention campaign in 8 districts: - Parbat, Baglung, Gorkha, Bhaktapur, Rautahat, Sindhupalchok,Chitwan,Kailali.• - IEC distribution• - Orientation to ~350 volunteers and their mobilisation•Considering the geographical spread, need to prepare in other districts too.•Business Continuity Plan (Being drafted)•Close coordination with Nepal government in order to future response of H1N1
