Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services and Mackenzie Tour – PGA TOUR Canada are bringing high profile golf back to the capital from August 14th – 20th for the fourth edition of the National Capital Open to Support Our Troops. The tournament is one of 12 stops on the Tour schedule, and offers the public an opportunity to see the “who’s next” generation of golfers up close. Over the course of the 12 tournament regular season, the players compete for ranking points and their share of the winning purse at each tournament, with the goal of finishing in the top 5 and graduating to the Web.Com Tour, the gateway to the PGA TOUR. It is a week-long celebration of professional golf and entertainment that raises funds for Soldier On. In 2016, the tournament, with the support of our partners, broke the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS for the ‘most people to hit a golf ball 100 yards in an hour’ and generated $100K to help mitigate veteran homelessness.

This year’s tournament will benefit Soldier On, a Canadian Armed Forces program that supports currently serving members and veterans to overcome their physical or mental health illness or injury through physical activity and sport. Since its inception in 2007, Soldier On has helped more than 2,200 ill and injured members and has issued more than $4-million in grants. The program has grown rapidly, and the funds raised will allow Soldier On to touch the lives of many more military members in need.

LETTER FROM THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR

More than 2,500 spectators, 250 volunteers and 44 corporate partners came to Hylands to watch 156 young professionals from more than 15 different countries compete for their share of the $175,000 purse. Brock Mackenzie emerged the 2016 tournament winner after a thrilling 7 hole sudden death playoff and a final score of 15 under par. The Mackenzie Tour – PGA TOUR Canada offers the opportunity to see the “who’s next” generation of golfers up close.

I ask you to be a sponsor of the National Capital Open to Support Our Troops at Hylands Golf Club and support these incredible athletes, watch high caliber golf in the comfort of our VIP hospitality suite and meet ill and injured military members while helping us achieve our $100K fundraising objective for Soldier On.

ENTERING INTO A PARTNERSHIP WITH CANADIAN FORCES MORALE AND WELFARE SERVICES WILL:

WHY SPONSOR?

• Provide an exclusive and intimate venue to host your clients and foster business relationships. For example, Bank of America has used the Pro Am event around its sponsorship of PGA TOUR stops to entertain customers and pitch new products. Over several years the Bank generated more than 2.5 million in incremental profit from the Pro Am events.

• Allow for a two way dialogue between your company and its consumers in an environment that matches their lifestyle.

• Provide a cost effective method of marketing your brand more efficiently to new and existing consumers over traditional forms of media buying.

• Market your products and services to a new and captive audience.

• Acquire access to senior leadership and decision makers.

• Harness the power of two world class brands, the Canadian Armed Forces and Mackenzie Tour – PGA TOUR Canada, to help improve your customer loyalty.

• Demonstrate a high degree of corporate social responsibility by supporting Canadian Armed Forces ill and injured members.

• Show your support to Soldier On participants who will be representing Team Canada at the Invictus Games in Toronto in September 2017.
